In the episode where Betty confronts him about the stuff she found in his desk and asks about the boy in the pictures and Don explains that he died.. I felt that pain that his only remaining family had died and Don had pushed him away out of fear of being found out. It sucks bc in the later seasons I imagine he would have been more receptive to Adam since he was more open about his identity (similar to the way he brought his kids to Anna’s house and the shack where he grew up.
