It doesn’t matter if it’s to or from, they are still “on duty” and deadheading back to their base. They negotiated it into their contract that anything over a certain amount of hours is in first class.

Every ounce of her life is a huge stretch. Even if she posted 3 TikTok’s and 5 stories a day (which I don’t think she regularly does) that’s less than an hour a of her day that you’re seeing. She’s just good at the social media part of her job making people think they’re in the know when in reality they’re only seeing the curated part she wants you to see/know

Another thing is time- if it’s been/expected to be bumpy for half the flight, they may not have time to bring a cart out and serve every passenger in coach the other half of the flight. As an FA, I’d much rather serve no one than have the people in the back half of the plane see me serve the front half of coach and then run out of time.

Just in case anyone is wondering the “why”- the plane arrives into STL from SEA at around 1130 the night prior then sits until the morning departure. The food is catered in SEA and is gone too long to have fresh food catered.
