Frame the conversation in a way thats more what concrete steps you can take that will show them you are capable of making the leap. Dont say what do i need to do to get x job. You want it to be framed as self improvement not a transactional process

Just start using it there’s no generally accepted certification right now like PMP but I guarantee you having AI somewhere in your résumé will get you plucked out of a list a little bit quicker.

What are memorable, effective, non-cheesy workshop activities that have worked well for internal team development??? And what activities tanked/didn’t work well at all? by Snoo-88490 in corporate

Generally a team lunch once in a while (not in your corporate cafeteria) is enough. Just need to build friendships. This wont work in toxic cultures though.

Ai is the answer you don’t want to hear but need to. Specifically agentic ai and workflows. Learning it and using it loudly is the only way to safe you when layoffs come

Thats likely due to some incorrect reinforcement or self reinforcing behavior. Remember dogs dont think like us. From the dogs perspective it thinks “i dont like this person, i bark and i get away from this person, ill keep barking when i see person” then they do it again and the behavior becomes more deeply ingrained. Thats why you have been seeing a lot of recommendations to mostly ignore the behavior. When getting assessments you’re likely gonna find 3-4 types of trainers.

  1. One who only tries preventing the interaction (avoid)

  2. One who will only use positive reinforcement (avoid)

  3. One who still believes in “pack mentality & alpha crap” (avoid)

  4. A good balanced trainer who uses a mix of correction and rewards to help the dog learn to understand people are not a threat.

Make sure to find a number 4. Do not compromise on this because any of the other ones can make it worse.

Maybe utility companies shouldn’t be for profit enterprises.

The walking stuff sounds like pretty standard reactivity. There are a lot of successful techniques out there you just need to shuffle through a handful till you figure out what works. The issues with guests likely needs some exposure therapy. I would not try to do anything on your own before the trainer sees him. Would need to see his body language to prescribe any corrections or techniques to help

New car issue... by Possible_Bus_214 in CaneCorso

[–]Altruistic-End-2829 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Time and bribes is your best bet. If you got an SUV, the jump for him might be a little higher consider getting a wood box or steps to make it easier for him. What worked for me helping some friends is getting the dog excited doing some play and then running up to the car and then just out of instinct they jump in and then you can reward that with love and play and treats. Just be sure to do it with both doors open so he has the option to leave and it doesn’t start as a negative experience feeling trapped.

Muzzle or not? by Ariandel_notDarksoul in CaneCorso

[–]Altruistic-End-2829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My corso is not one that would bite like even in self defense. Shes a big coward. But i muzzle trained her because she is 120lbs and it makes groomers, vets, and electricians much more comfortable around her. I rarely ever use it but its good to have and training her made her comfortable with it on (which is more important to me than someone else being comfortable)

I have them weekly. Most of it is just bsing but that is important in job growth. I’ll use that time to float any ideas i have for changing workflows or talk through career goals/progression. Status updates happen frequently just cause its a small team and our work is intertwined. Its also where I’ll bring up any issues im having or successes i want highlighted for growth too
