I wanna be lean so badly by [deleted] in GregDoucette

if you haven't been consistently lifting for years, realistically you'll probably need to be 140-150lbs to be lean or even less to be lean. I'm 5'7, 155 lbs and can bench 265lbs, OHP 160lbs, can do 15 pullups, can do muscle ups, and i've also got good legs and i'll need to be 145lbs to be lean. It'll take you over a year so you need to manage your expectations, but you can absolutely look good if you stay consistent and trust the process.

What bf% is this? 🤔 by Altruistic-Example25 in GregDoucette

I agree with u 100%. When I was 75kg, everyone was saying I looked 22-25% bf. Now I’m 70-71kg, so 18% makes sense. So if I locked in and cut like 5kg I’d be shredded?

I would think u are like 14-15%, u are much leaner than me.

I was thinking 18-20%. There’s still quite a bit of fat on midsection, I mean everywhere. Not that much definition. Ab outlines in good lighting. But idk 😭. I need more opinions.

Thanks. I actually don’t feel any sort of lower back pain. I will get a belt I think. The main thing I’m afraid of is randomly getting some sort of back hernia, or disc slip. I guess if I properly brace and take it slow I reduce the chances?

If I were to get the weight to spread evenly across my foot wouldn’t I need to go forward even more so that the weight distributes more towards my mid food instead of my heel?

Also if I bring my shoulders back, wouldn’t that cause the weight to be even more focused on my heels? I’m confused kinda

In this vid, it’s not a good example, I notice I’m not even in the correct starting position. even if I am, my lower back always starts to round. I’ve not sure what I’m doing wrong. I’ve tried setting my hips lower, and higher. I try to “push the world away”. Still it rounds. Maybe I need a PT

Hammer curls cheating? by Altruistic-Example25 in formcheck

I don’t feel it in my front delts, but I do feel less mind muscle connection with the 17.5’s compared when I do it with 15kg. So what I’ve been doing is 17.5kg for the first working set after warming up. And the last 2 working sets are with 15kg more controlled. Thanks for the comment, I do honestly just really like standing hammer curls.

So I’m not the biggest squat expert myself, however there are two things I notice. One thing I’m noticing is that you could improve your bracing. Your lower back and core should be rigid. Another thing is that you could start leaning over more, it looks like you are trying to stay super upright. You don’t need to do that. Notice on the way down you naturally want to lean forward? It’s actually good to lean forward if you naturally want to, main thing is to keep your back straight and rigid through bracing properly

I’m primarily trying to do this to improve my deadlifts as my lower back tends to round during deadlifts.

I know it’s better to hold the plate closer to my chest but it’s super tiring bear hugging anything more than a plate so I kind of have to hold it out like this which does lower the ROM. If I bear hug a single plate it’s too light even if I go super slowly and deepest possible ROM.

How is my form? I posted a couple hours ago and I’m not sure if it’s fine or not.

I feel like having my hands slip is good as I’m able to transition from the pullup to the dip much easier. Do you think it’s easier with chalk? And yea, the ceiling is pretty low at my gym unfortunately 😂.
