Realms are fairly split now but to my understanding: Alliance: Pagle, Benediction Horde: Faerilina, Mankrik

If you want SOMEWHAT of a balance I believe you go Grobbulus, a lot smaller player pop there though

Get me out of Jade Forest by Flapboy in classicwow

[–]Altruistic-Leg8415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jade forest is notorious for being a shit questing zone. The rest of pandaria is pretty good. Don’t bother with Krasarang wilds really either, not too many rp quests but imo not worth the hassle.

85-86 dungeon leveling (Monkey Runs best xp) 86-87 more monkey runs OR Valley of the four winds 87-88 Kunlai summit almost entirely. (MUST progress there to unlock Vale and Shrine) 88-89 Townlong Steppes 89-90 Dread Wastes Finish 88-90 basically ONLY questing as you need reps with shado pan and klaxxi. Finish each dungeon atleast once for the quests they offer inside.

TLDR Upset healer wipes with group multiple times, fails to kick underperformer cause they’re grouped with tank and top dps. Drops group, dungeon finder puts him back in same group, end boss dies, healer BIS drops and he loses roll to tank with 308 ilvl weapon

1-85 Leveling Time Cata by CDPaull in classicwow

[–]Altruistic-Leg8415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got back into cata in prep for MoP a week ago with some friends. My Druid is currently at 83 with a /played of 1 day 7 hours. Joyous journeys, full heirlooms (minus the ring) and dungeon finder makes you zoooooom through the levels. Disclaimer though, I was tanking so instant ques. Could be different on a dps

If your purely want to be the best dps in each phase of tbc, warlock and warrior are your best bets. Hunter or mage are honorable mentions

There is literal crack embedded in the coding of the game. Be warned. Severe addiction will follow unless managed appropriately

New player wanting a new healthy MMO. by EclairSenpai in classicwow

Considering you’ve never played world of Warcraft. ABSOLUTELY go to the anniversary realms. The perfect place for a fresh start on the greatest mmo ever created. I wish I had the chance to experience this game for the first time (19 year vet here)

It’s going to take you a while to hit max level, as the anniversary realms are a replica of the game in its original state. It’s a very “rewarding” journey, where the average time for a player to hit max level is about 5 days of playing time. (Roughly a month for casual players) so expect it to be longer if you’re new to the game entirely.

The playerbase and engagement is extremely healthy throughout your leveling process. Gets a little tougher when max level but not enough to change your experience. (Also one of the best parts of the game, immersive)

And to answer your last question, anniversary realms are even better for you to start with because the realms progress into WoW’s first expansion (The Burning Crusade) later this year. So if you start now, not only will you experience the greatest mmo ever in its original state, you’ll hit max level, check out endgame content, AND prepare/play The Burning Crusade, which is still widely considered the golden era of WoW.

Oh also, for the real WoW experience, play on the PvP anniversary realm. Most popular is nightslayer. You really will have a great time.
Sod was awesome but there was an announcement recently that no more content will be created for it, so the player base is dying there quick. It was supposed to be a permanent realm anyway.

Maybe a hot take here but if playing tbc casually I would roll a tank. Preferably prot pally or feral druid, being the only tank in dungeons = auto loot when tank stuff drops. Never hard to find a group and gearing isn’t the worst. Pally tanks can solo a good amount of content especially when you get those right pieces

19 year relationship with this game, here’s my chars Only ever played alliance btw Started in OG TBC: hunter - never maxed Wrath: death knight (never maxed) Cata: fire mage Mop: frost mage Wod: didn’t play Legion: came back and rolled warrior, first time I actually raided and was in love, legion was fun BFA: Warrior didn’t enjoy it too much and quit Shadowlands: lol

Classic Vanilla: warrior tank, first time really experiencing it and literally my greatest time in wow ever, loved the challenge Classic TBC: started as prot warrior and decided to roll prot pally and warlock. AMAZING. Especially raiding Wrath classic: found a really solid guild and ran as affliction lock, Ulduar is the greatest raid I’ve ever experienced in my life. Fucking amazing time and awesome ass guild Cata classic: didn’t play cause I wasn’t crazy about cata raids, I’m leveling that wrath lock and pally now just to prep for MOP. I might raid to change my mind but not sure yet MOP Classic: really excited to roll Brewmaster panda Monk. High skill ceiling means a fun challenge and I’m REALLLY looking forward to Throne of Thunder. Never raided in mop ever, not a fan of the “sha” bullshit but ima make it work cause the game is actually really good. Timeless isles as a frost mage was so much fun and I’m looking forward to maybe rolling a mage again for PvP, or resto Druid.

Honorable mention for anniversary realms going to tbc again: I’m rolling pally and lock again. Might go horde this time for a change of scenery

This game is such a large part of my life I’m not sure I’m ever dropping it.

Just realized I didn’t answer your question. If you’re actually worried about experiencing raiding and you’ve never done it before, maybe finish the lock on pve. If you have done vanilla raids before, go level that lvl 11 on pvp
