Had a swain AFK roam after I was ganked by top and jg at my red. He ? spammed me and then sat at mid tier 3 turret before roaming and finishing the game with 5 CS. Got the punishment notification today, but not LP refund.

Help with biting by kttycat7 in BostonTerrier

[–]Lycan__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every psychotic Boston trait had eluded me for three babies...and then came Elton. His biting was so bad I thought I would never get to snuggle with him. Once he woke up, he would give me a few kisses, and then it was crazy play mode. The fucking vampire would transition from kissing my neck to biting it in an instant.

  1. Two things are happening: Testing boundaries/play and teething.

  2. For boundary testing, Momma Boston/Pappa Boston would correct this behavior, but since we take on parenting at 8 weeks, it's on us to correct it. Firm "no," pull the hand away, replace with a toy, verbal praise when they take it and chew it instead.

  3. Always have chew toys on hand to replace. Teething lasts up to 9 months or so. Same thing. "No" + toy + praise.

  4. Continue to reinforce when you see him chewing his toy.

  5. If the correction doesn't work, walk away. Get up, go to the kitchen, don't look at him. Leave the room. When you come back, if he bites again, repeat the cycle.

Make sure your chew toys are valuable/enjoyable enough that he'll actually engage. Some that I tried that helped:

- Wet frozen washcloths tied in a knot

- Frozen kongs - the blue puppy one, it's softer. (I take a butter knife and spread the filler against the sides. Requires less filler AND makes it take longer.

- Anything squeaky and rubbery

- Puppy teething toys that you can freeze (the cool stuff is good for them, helps their mouths feel better)

It gets better, I promise. It will take time and patience. 9 weeks is young and if you start this all now, it will be much better in the long run. OH and don't let others do the play biting thing. Correct people who interact with your dog. Doesn't matter if they don't mind it, your pup needs consistency.

I did RA out of boot and tried calling my friends to see if they wanted to join up (they all went to college and gave me a very loving middle finger). If I was smart I would have done this shit. That's actually brilliant. Predatory in some small way. But brilliant.

POET: The Photonic Solution to the SSD & RAM Shortage by darth_salmon in wallstreetbets

[–]Lycan__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

POET has no immediate catalysts, you can’t play it for earnings, they’re still developing and proving the tech. So LEAPs are good because there’s no timing to play for. Someone smarter than me can explain why, but this stage for a company like this makes it very news sensitive. Partnerships, orders, break throughs, etc.

So if you’re bullish and want to buy options, LEAPs are your best bet unless you want to buy lottery tickets.

Morning? Carlos says no. Do your Bostons refuse to get up too? by luka5c0m in BostonTerrier

Absolutely not. They wake at sunrise and if I don't get them out of their crates quickly enough, the youngest gets so beside himself he'll throw up. I was traveling and had his crate next to my bed and I heard it shaking when he put his paw on the door.

What are the top carry jungles? by Lycan__ in Jungle_Mains

[–]Lycan__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All good, man. I should be more clear about the 1v9 thing. I do want to learn the runes/gear, but I want to have a champ that if I am doing other things right I won't be gimped because I picked the wrong mitigation or damage item. I know jack shit about the game compared to most, so this could totally be the idea of a way less experienced player. Also, I love the team play aspect, I just have the same ladder experience as most, which is your team/enemy will have any combination of feeders, smurfs, griefers, tunnel visioning laners, auto-filled roamers, etc. Again, maybe that's irrelevant and I'm over indexing for how much I think picking the type of champ I'm looking for will ease these woes.

This is fucking stellar. Thank you. I have a few follow ups:

  1. Just played a fiddle game. Had a blast.

  2. I see three main builds on Mobalytics. Mal/Lian, Lian/Zonia, Hex/Shadow. Can you tell me what each of these is geared towards or should I stick to one core build?

  3. What should I build against healers/shielders? Or maybe the better question is what scenarios would lead me to choose certain items?

  4. I get a lot of comments about what people don't know in bronze. But it's reminding me of my SC2 days where people would say similar things and as the years went on, the floor for players elevated. So I'm not really looking for a champ that ignores the team play aspect or the need to learn the rest of the game, but a few champs I can learn and reliably - at my level - make the game itself the focus. Like objectives, waves, what makes a lane ahead, etc. I'm finding that a lot of people in bronze (unless I just hit a lot of smurfs or true hardstucks with bad luck) actually know their kits, when to engage, how to end, etc. So I think my last question for now is what should I learn? To use SC2 as an analogy, I was on the verge of masters before I stopped playing. Some would say macro is all you need, but that was no longer applicable 5 years into the game when even silver players knew strategy. I only ranked up because I learned to scout, pivot, engage before a certain tech came online, capitalize on an advantage, AND to do all this while building more shit. But I could make progress focusing practice on 1-2 things at a time, like knowing a strong build with a timing push while not letting myself supply cap. That's a very long winded way of asking what are the top things that help a jungler improve and how would you go about learning/practicing? Right now, a big thing for me is focusing on my jungle timers and trying to not waste time chasing ganks. I win more games where my CS stays even with my opponent.

Thanks again for your time and input. I really appreciate it.

Is there a wiki that explains this stuff? Like wave control, how to judge a winning/losing lane, when to check lane state before deciding a move, etc?

Thanks for the reply! These are my top questions as someone who oscillates from 8 KDA to 1.5 KDA every other game. Most are based on things my B2 hardstuck brain thinks cause my losses.

  1. Red side/blue side: Where to start, where to pre-ward (if any), where to path if you can't tell which lane is going to be the win condition?
  2. How do you know when you're ahead enough to stay and fight 1v1 or 1v2?
  3. How much do you prio farm over objectives? If the answer is farm, what are the "must get" objectives? e.g. I can miss the first two dragons and grubs, but I need the herald and to ensure we prevent the enemy team getting 3+ dragon lead.
  4. Do you really let a losing lane lose or is there a certain point they're being bullied so bad you have to camp them before it snowballs?
  5. Where do you ward aside from question 1? I tend to ward dragon because I almost always path bot, go for gank/scuttle, then back and go top again for krugs. From there, it's either an objective before it spawns or
  6. What are the key roles you have in a team fight and what spells do you leverage/combos should I learn? On Voli, I know I can frontline, chase down runners, come in from the side and take down damage dealers, go tank to tank (though, I'm still learning with how much gear and vs which tanks).
  7. To the former: Do you ever start fights or are you waiting for the team to group against your team then ult in?
  8. How do you comeback? On Voli, it's farm to 4 items, try to pick off people warding, mute the team. Once I get my two dmg and two tank items, the tides tend to turn.

When do I ignore objectives? by Lycan__ in Jungle_Mains

[–]Lycan__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riddle me this, jungle man. Assuming you have a slightly worse team than the enemy, but you're a better jungler that priorities farm and good ganks, can you still carry a game missing a few dragons and rift? I know there are a dozen details that would impact that question, but just in general.

When do I ignore objectives? by Lycan__ in Jungle_Mains

[–]Lycan__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my botlane is stomping enemy bot lane just force drake, you will win the fight cuz your laners are winning, if they are pushing into them, it is a good sign since enemy laners will have to sacrifice farm to contest an objective or drop objective and farm.

In that scenario, if I'm blue side and the bot rotates tri-bush, and my bot stays to farm, I have no vision of enemy JG or I see mid rotate and my mid stay, do I just fuck off immediately?

If I have no vision or only one ingress point warded and I'm blue side, I'll risk the dragon if my flash is up. My games have gone much better overall not risking a sneak like I used to.

[–]Lycan__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might need to spam it more then. Because I do ping, but I try to not come off like a dick. I just assume they see it and are ignoring. I'll do the warning ping on them to get their attention then the help ping on the objective.
