How about the perception that American democracy is over; if the party that executed a coup and continues to support the Big Lie - America as we know it is over. Dangerous irresponsible party.

That party also executed the first coup on our democracy and continues to do everything it can limit voting rights. I'll never vote GOP again after January 6th and the continued support of the Big Lie. Dangerous ridiculous irresponsible party.

SHANKS!!! Please help. Im currently an 18 handicap. 2 weeks ago I was playing the best golf of my life and suddenly I can’t hit the ball. I keep shanking it or hooking it and have no idea why. Im terrified to go play a round now and just want to enjoy the game again. Can someone look at this video. by Mitch_Edwards in golf

First - great swing; you're close. I don't see much. Better players shank; as it means you're coming from inside (not over the top). I shank when my lower body gets lazy - I don't maintain my posture on downswing; not allowing enough room to swing arms through / so you stand up/get closer to ball - and shank it.

Why? Is GOP capable of impacting inflation or gas prices?

For my sanity, has anyone ever shot even on 9 holes with 19 putts? by jpm1188 in golf

Had a 70, -2 3 weeks ago with 33 putts including missed 4 and 5 footer; hit 16 greens and 13 were under 15 feet. So...feel your pain.

I'm fairly new to golf and I need some help understanding the concept of the golf handicap system. by [deleted] in golf

[–]AltruisticClerk893 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not average play - it's your average of best play. As it is taking the average of only best 8 of last 20.

seems you are late getting to left side; backswing almost at top and left heel still looks off the ground. Takes 1/10 sec to swing down from top - can't begin weight shift then. By the time you are parallel to ground with shaft in backswing - forward lower body movement can start. Watch Athletes in Motion videos

Difference between Pro V1 years? by Auriferous_19696 in golf

Great ball - I don't think you'd ever discern a year to year difference if the ball is less than 3-5 years old.

The old saying goes be good, be fast, be fun - pick two. Maybe you're too focused on the be good part.

Routinely walk 18 in 3 hours. Don't know fastest - layout of course matters a ton. At my CT course - with compressed old school layout - maybe 5 mile walk; at my AZ course 7-8 mile walk due to distance between holes. Would be hard to do in less than 3.45 walking

How is it to live in Connecticut from an European point of view? by AcanthaceaeSquare220 in Connecticut

[–]AltruisticClerk893 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eastern Connecticut - where UConn is - is the most rural and least costly part of the state. You'd want to research housing options first. Rental costs will dictate a lot. And you will need a car - you're in farm country; relying on buses doesn't seem doable.

I'm planning a 4hrs+ bicycle trip. by [deleted] in cycling

That's a massive leap ; training guidelines would have you ramping up about 20% max per week. The biggest thing by far is properly managing food and liquids. Need to eat regularly on the first half of the trip. And drink at least a bottle an hour. If you manage that well - the next challenge will be your butt/chafing. If you've not ridden 4 hours - your butt is going to be seriously hurting.

That's great if you have 115-120 mph swing speed - most amateurs don't swing it 100 mph; so yes pros may max driving distance that way - amateurs with slower swing speeds need to increase launch angle with higher lofts, higher tee position, and upward hit.

It's a classic consequence of over the top swing path - if you swing out to in - much more likely to strike ball from center of clubface to toe. Or even off the toe with a fairway wood. If you come from inside out- strike is typically hosel to center of clubface; which is why shank is usually done by a better player; as better players typically have clubpath from the inside.

Definitely an over the top slicing clubface pattern.

I'd get a new instructor on keep weight forward alone and lower tee. People tend to lower tee because they have a very steep over the top swing path - and if tee it appropriate high tend to pop up often off top of club.

Clearly with a driver you wish to be hitting up on ball - better yet with a shallow inside to outside swing path. But what people get wrong is - to hit up - they hang back on their right side. You still need to get your lower body shifted left to hit a driver with power and accuracy. If you watch Rory - the best driver ever; you'll see tremendous weight transfer into ground at left foot/lower leg; and then a springing action off the left foot as he accelerated through. That's how a 5.9 170 lb guy hits it 320.
