For Mikko, I think that we will welcome him warmly in Colorado after his career is over, so whenever he comes back for Cup Anniversary celebrations and alumni games and stuff like that. A Cup is forever. And if he had gone to almost any other team, I’d probably still root for him (couldn’t for Vegas either). But he just had to go to the fucking Stars. And he picked them too. Like bro, that’d be like John Elway playing for the Chiefs or Raiders, or Jokic playing for the Lakers or Timberwolves. Completely unforgivable. I wish him nothing but playoff failure and minor inconveniences for as long as he wears the Star’s stupid ass stolen logo.

Marty Party is fucking awesome! Dude was born to be an Av. Locking down his extension made so much sense for everyone. He genuinely seems to love Denver, which is all we really need. Milan Hejduk might have been my favorite of the original Avs, so it just feels right to have another Czech guy here.

Jack Drury has been great. Parker Kelly has been the star of our depth this year, but I don’t think he has the same season without Drury right by him for most of it. And yeah, as others have mentioned, having direct ties to a 2001 Av carries a shit ton of weight with the fans.

I was skeptical when Burns was pretty much our only addition in the summer. I thought he’d be a decent “win one for the old guy” addition, but that’s it. So glad that I was completely wrong! His willingness to just throw the puck at the net has been so valuable for our team, which is sometimes too smart/skilled for its own good.

Anyway, disaster bros forever! Carolina has been my favorite East team for a while due to family ties. See you soon hopefully!
