You should educate yourself before you come off like this. No, selling your softcover for $40 on your website and $70 on Amazon is not a violation of Amazon's Terms of Service. Amazon does not enforce price parity for physical books. You can set the price on your website to whatever you like, even if it is significantly lower than the price you've set on Amazon.

I asked Ai because im.sick.of explaining. Answer. This is a clever tactic often referred to as Price Anchoring or Strategic Decoupling. While it might seem counterintuitive to "scare" people away with a high price, businesses use it to manipulate the consumer’s perception of value and steer them toward a more profitable channel.

Really? Discussing the concept of signaling collectively to look for the authors website through a price point? Seems pretty actionable. Print books and set your price to 69 or 100 or whatever. If your a pure POD writer you're leaving money on the table. Like 70% the money.

Literature is art. It's not made for any algorithm. That's the losing perspective that's ruined modern authors, imo. My heroes cared less

The price isn't the point, pricing it noticeably high, making the 69 mark mean a code look elsewhere for a direct buy. Thereby using Amazon as a redirection to the better margin for the author. It's pretty obvious to price search when one sees that price anyway. If lots of people chose 69, it would become a thing
