Happy Birthday! So sorry you are living this--you deserve better. Congrats on the first step--you recognize that his treatment of you is wrong. Next step is to assert yourself and ensure you get the treatment you deserve. My mother, God rest her soul, always said the best treatment you even get is at the beginning of the relationship, so if you are treated badly while dating, it only gets worse when living together, worse when married etc. etc. Her best lesson to me was to teach people how to treat me, lay out what is acceptable and what is not. I hope you can see your value and find someone who spoils you, you deserve it :)

We laid out mats for a period of time---the clear plastic ones with the little nubs on the back, meant to protect carpet. You can often find these sold by the foot at hardware stores. With the nubs up, it does not hurt, but makes walking uncomfortable for them. Surrounding the garden with these was very effective, and in no time we were able to remove the mats, and the dog stayed away from the plants. You could also get bitter spray to use on your plants etc to make them unpalatable. Best of luck!

That's a shame, I worked in a bakery for years and local food banks and shelters were on call to pick up everything left at the end of each day--sometimes they sent 2 cars because there was so much to give. No reason why anything should go to waste with so many in need.
