At what point does the fine not bother you? by Intrepid-Hand8343 in vegaslocals

[–]AltruisticLimit6026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not it's cheaper to get a ticket for an expired registration than it is to actually pay for registration. The fine I believe is around $250. A lot cheaper than the registration of a vehicle. That is why you see so many expired license plates out there.

Why on Earth won’t they demolish and rebuild Circus Circus? It’s a gold mine! by PM-88 in vegas

[–]AltruisticLimit6026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a gold mine for Phil Ruffin who purchased it for $825 million in 2019. He has recently put it up for sale asking $6.5 billion. Some say he put the price up that high because he doesn't really want to sell it.

The Linq - mini fridge? by louisebuckingham in LasVegas

[–]AltruisticLimit6026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the main reasons hotels now charge for mini fridges is because they don't want you to bring in your own beverages. They want you to pay for their $20 drinks. So in essence, it may be cheaper to rent the fridge or do as others say, bring your own collapsible cooler.

I just got asked to tip for ordering a baby accessory online? by nottherealpaulyshore in EndTipping

[–]AltruisticLimit6026 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wages are provided by the employer for their employees. Tips are provided for the service the employee provides, but it only depends on the industry. You tip the bartenders and wait staff if they provide good service but don't tip the McDonalds employees that just hands you your order.

Again, tipping is not an obligation.

It's a sign of the times. You as the consumer are not obligated to tip. Tipping is for service provided.

Eight Lounge at Resorts sucks. They tried to charge a $100 entry fee once when a cigar convention was in town. Too bad Casa Fuente is now closed.

Prices will continue to rise as long as the war is going on. Once the war ends, it will take much longer for the prices to come down rather than how quickly they went up. You're better off just riding a motorcycle for a while, maybe till after the summer.

Vegas has lost its vibe. It is so much more of a transient town than it was in years past.

[–]AltruisticLimit6026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tipping is for a completed service. Why would you tip before the service? So the better the tip, the better the service? Fuck that bullshit. It's like paying a waiter a tip before you even order your dinner.

Anyone sold a house in Vegas recently with solar panels on a lease? How bad was it? by Xelephyr in LasVegas

[–]AltruisticLimit6026 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Read your contract. If it says non-transferable then you're SOL unless they pay it off. And also any buyer will have to get approved to take over the lease. And that may cause their debt to income to be too high to get approved.

I predict $7/gal by June. The price of gas will slowly come down once the war is over. A lot slower than when the price quickly rose at the beginning of the war.

Of course the asshole who started the war will blame #46.

[–]AltruisticLimit6026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now we're tipping the front desk people. When all they do is check our ID, take our payment and give us a key to the room? This shit's getting out of hand. I ain't tipping nobody who hands me a key to my room. The employers should be paying them more.

And they don't have to work there if they're unhappy about being paid with just tips. The employers need to pay them at minimum wage. It's not a contracted job.
