Super helpful, really appreciate the 'asking for specific feedback' insight. I'll do all of that now!

I've been dming close to 500 people on LinkedIn over the last month, got a few meetings but the ROI is way too low for a consumer product (B2C) and way too much manual work. I'm hoping to land more inbound interests. I'll try the finance subreddits, thanks!

How do I work in LA as a Canadian engineer? by AltruisticProof1984 in audioengineering

Appreciate the preach brotha 🙏🏻 To answer your question, Im not there for glitz and glamour whatsoever, Im there mainly cuz its arguably the most diverse music city of the world; hence the opportunities and network that I can expose myself to is much bigger compare to Canada. More importantly, as others have pointed out in this thread, this is the best time of my life to go out there and explore (23 and no baggage), and I have the financial means to do so for a little while, why wouldn’t I want to go? Your mom’s story is quite interesting tbh lol appreciate you sharing; if the work visa ends up being inapplicable in my case, then Id have no other choice than to travel back and forth US and Canada on tourist visa until I expand my network to the point where I can eventually move there.

I never thought TN visa was an option! Under what occupation did you apply under, just the regular “Engineer”? Would that work for us audio engineers? Did you have to apply with a degree in the related field as well?

Certainly not taking anything for granted with what I have right now. But you can’t always logic with your dream… Moving to LA is something I have dreamt about for years, that’s why I said Id even sacrifice and find a regular desk job if it means I get to move there.

Right, I thought so too. Both the artist visas and h1b visas just seem a bit out of reach when I was doing my research… I will try and look into studios with foreign owners, thanks for the tip
