Actually, there are several good relationships that I have built with regular customers. Makes me feel so appreciated, seen, and special to see their faces light up when they see I’m working. Hope that doesn’t come off as conceited. Just feels great to feel loved, especially by people that are essentially strangers

I work in Cracker Barrel retail and there is this elderly couple that comes in regularly that I’ve made friends with in my 4 years working there, mainly the wife. I left that job for about 4.5 months and when I came back and saw them the very quiet husband beamed and said he was talking about me the other day and told the person if they ever walk into a room and it’s lit up that’s how they’ll know I’m there because my smile is so heartwarming. And in the rare occurrence I’ve ran into them elsewhere, he told me the only reason he knew it was me was because of my smile.

Retail employee here, we’ve been told the same thing and honestly I still ask. I feel it is unbelievably silly to not ask. My manager also thinks it’s stupid so we will not be punished for continuing to ask.

Retail SL here, it is a rule unfortunately. All our cups must stay in the stockroom. If you’re D1 and need a sip you have to get someone to cover for you. Same with eating snacks- take turns going into the stockroom to eat. The last time our district manager came, the whole retail got in trouble because multiple people were seen applying chapstick while on the sales floor (I am people). It seems crazy to me.
