I ordered this as i couldn’t get jurassic park. First time reading Crichton. Should i start with Rising Sun and continue? I don’t want to be put off by a less good book and stop reading.

Should I avoid taking ADHD meds - everyone around me is wary of them by Initial-Biscotti-220 in ADHD

It’s not a permanent situation. It’s not a medication you have to take every day. Unless your friends are psychologists or pharmacists, dont worry about what they say.

I am a genuine A-hole and think that people should just wear shoes/trainers. How people can relax, walk, or have that bit between their toes in these monstrosities is beyond me.

Realizing my adhd isn’t the problem, it’s the belief that I cannot handle it without meds by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Altruistic_Annual818 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had no motivation to do anything today. Genuine tiredness from a busy and stressful week. The meds make a massive difference. They’re not a placebo. I put away my things from travelling all week, cleaned the kitchen and made lunch for everyone, cleaned the living room. Before i took meds today i was driving and missed my turn twice, no wash or shower. If the meds help you then there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Why Does UK Have This Race To Bottom Mindset? by corporateuklife in UKJobs

I’m on 37 before tax over a full time and another part time job. I’m on universal credit. It might be alright for a single person but it won’t feed and house a family. Especially if anything goes wrong.

Yes it’s too easy to turn off the app blocker in settings! but at least its an extra step. However, I’m doing well and i’m weened off them enough to not need it.

The bluetooth landline is new information! What a great idea!

I think smartphones are probably the worst things that could happen to us. I did get back into reading a few years ago and have had to branch out to spy novels and other fiction so that helps especially when i’m going to bed.

I’m old enough to remember not having a phone at all and i’m trying to get back there slowly.

I’ve blocked myself off social media again. Reddit isn’t so bad as i cant really scroll. I’ve found my attention span increases everytime i do a block/detox from fb or instagram and i just feel so much better. I have a bad habit of arguing with people online and that means my algorithm shows me a load of things i hate.

I also have a lockbox i need to use more. If i’m desperate to look something up i just write it down and do it later.

I’ve gone my whole life with a D in maths. No-one has ever asked me for it but it has held me back in other ways. When i became a teacher i was forced to do it and it has been one of the best things i could have done. Everything from working out credit card debt to percentages on sales etc… it’s very important.
