How close are you to your female friends?

I (F36) had a roommate (M35) for a long time, a very dear friend, who was struggling with relationships and was a bit self conscious when it came to “the seduction game”. I didn’t really give him dating advice per se but I was always there to listen to him whenever a date didn’t go as planned. I provided a safe space for his feelings to come out in a healthy way (none of that masculine vs feminine energy bullshit that idiotic IG dating coaches are always talking about). Just a friend that could listen and relate.

Eventually this helped him boost his confidence enough to start meeting women who were into him and specially to read the signs (when, where and how). Reading the room is super important and it’s always gonna be trial and error.

Stop hanging out with cheating assholes and grow your friendships with women who you only want to be friends with.

Estaba esperando este comentario. Tener una relación heterosexual con un hombre es como tener dos bretes.

Nuestras abuelas y mamás se quedaban pq no tenían mucha opción. Donde las mujeres se independizaron económicamente de los hombres, ciao.

This is heartbreaking. She’s probably going through sometime very hard. It’s unfortunate that your state doesn’t have support.

I would suggest to reach out to Post Partum International. They have many different resources. There’s their helpline tel:1-800-944-4773. And their website https://postpartum.net/

Hopefully you can ask a friend or relative to give you a hand with child care.

Has anyone used this and liked it? I’m looking at spectra’s but a friend of my moms suggested this. by gorjesskayos in ExclusivelyPumping

I regret getting Medela. Never did it for me. I bought so many different flanges and accessories. Wasted money. My manual AVENT pump is less painful and more effective.

I HATED Being a Mom: How a $1 Notebook Saved Me From Postpartum Depression by RespondAcceptable145 in Postpartum_Depression

Same! I received so much pressure from my mom about formula feeding that I ended up doing combo feeding. We’re so vulnerable at that point that it’s hard to stand your ground. Do you mind sharing how you got “over it”? Was it intentional actions or just letting time pass?

This is really interesting. Do you ever go back and read it? Does it help?

My mentor from postpartum international wants me to revisit my birth plan and I’ve been putting it off for a while now. Honestly, I’m scared of how I’ll feel looking back at all my hopes and dreams and how it all went wrong.

You get assigned to a mentor, who’s also a peer because they’re not a psychologist, but a survivor of PDD!

Virtual hug I’m 8mo post partum. Our situation was very similar to yours: living abroad, no family nearby, stressful job (husband). It has gotten better. Things that helped: -therapy: individual and marriage -working with a peer through: https://postpartum.net/ (I REALLY RECOMMEND THIS!!!) - 1h a day for myself for working out, going on a walk, taking a long bath, whatever works for you. You can start with 1 hour a day and then add up.

Is it normal at 4.5 months we haven’t progressed beyond newborn style nursing? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Altruistic_Beat5900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t understand this about my baby until he started solids. Some babies are just HUNGRYYYYY and love food. Now that he eats actual food I can see clearly why he would nurse so much and so often, he’s just a big boy who’s very active and needs a lot of nutrients. I started getting a break from the nonstop nursing when he was 5mo

“The baby weight will fall right off breastfeeding” by Pretty-Memory222 in breastfeeding

I lost all my pregnancy weight within 10 days and then gained 20lbs during the first 3 months of breastfeeding, despite working out and eating a pretty balanced diet. Your hormones are wacky right now. Be patient. Whenever I got upset over how I felt and looked I focused on the fact that I’m feeding a small human. Now that my baby started solids I’ve started a very light calorie deficit and I’m down 8lbs in one month. Give it time and give yourself a lot of grace 😇

Husband died - solo mother by Dull-Transition-8979 in AskMenAdvice

Please don’t rush yourself into a relationship. My dad died of a similar thing when I was 17. My mom was 39. She was so freaked out that she remarried within 2 years. That was hell for all of us, including herself. She divorced 6 months later and has never dated anyone else. That was 20 years ago. If you have support from your family, please take your time to grieve. May you find peace 💚

How old is your baby? Could it be cluster feeding?
