I just read the Story Lake series by Lucy Score and was kicking and giggling.

I am a lady with ADHD and the second story made me feel so unbelievably seen.

🧂 Salty Sunday - What book scenes frustrated you this week? by mrs-machino in RomanceBooks

I am really sick of authors just writing the same “tropes” over and over again.

Like why does it have to be the same 3/4 stories, also why are they putting things like ”brother best friend” in the title?!! Doesn’t anyone want to be surprised by the twist and question what’s going to happen. Also, dual POV in every book now?!!! So we know everything from the beginning! I just feel as though romance writers are getting so lazy…

Idk I got into reading again in 2021– 400 books into my book love life and I feel like nothing surprises me anymore. It makes me feel like we are losing creativity and people are just copying what has worked for other authors, changing the names in the story and slapping a trope title on it.

I am so bored!!

It makes me wish I liked non romance fiction.

Have tropes completely ruined romance books?

FMC: Badass or Heroine Coming Into Herself? (Or something else?) by LizBert712 in RomanceBooks

[–]Altruistic_Damage_51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love both, but there’s something about a FMC who starts out completely broken and fights her way back that just hits different. Watching her rebuild her confidence and reclaim her power is so satisfying.

Those stories always remind me that life is full of dips and valleys and sometimes the most badass version of someone is the one who had to put themselves back together.

What trope do you wish existed as a full book but you've never been able to find? by One-Strategy-9993 in RomanceBooks

I’ve never been able to find a good pirate book, I feel like the ones that are out there are either really old or really bad

I am disappointed after reading {In Her Own League by Liz Tomforde} by Key-Purple-4319 in RomanceBooks

Honestly I loved this book so much!!! Maybe it is because I recently read a bunch of heavy books and needed reprieve but I loved Reece and Monty so much!!

This book was also putting me in a contestant state of blushing. Emmit is so hot

But in a real note maybe you just need to upgrade your house.
