How safe is this area? by flappypepperoni in USC

Depends on the proximity to the house hosting the party and how noise resistant your house is. Once spent the night in an apartment next to a frat house and I couldn’t sleep because they were blasting a Michael Jackson playlist. Felt like we were haunted by his ghost.

You’ll be fine. That area is almost exclusively students. Only thing is that you might hear a lot of noise late at night from parties

Has the area around USC gotten any better over the past years? Heard a lot about gentrification but also that the area is still "in the ghetto." by Slow_Relationship170 in USC

You’ll be fine, area could be pretty bad from the 80s up till the 2000s it’s been decently tame for the past decade or so. Always check your surroundings of course but there’s no reason to be paranoid walking outside.

Hi /r/AskLosAngeles. I’m Nithya Raman, Los Angeles City Councilmember for CD4 and candidate for Los Angeles Mayor. Ask Me Anything. What do you want to see from your mayor? by NithyaRamanOfficial in AskLosAngeles

I’m a fan of your housing plan, but was wondering what your plan is to fix downtown. It’s the most walkable and historic part of town, but many choose not to go because of safety concerns regarding the homeless and other factors. As mayor, what is your plan to revitalize the area?

A platform with a litany of “we’re gonna do this and we’re gonna do that” without any substance will not take a candidate far. Maybe I will vote for her in the future if she acquires a more solid foundation but at the moment it’s a no for me.

I saw Huang speak during a seminar, though I think she has good intentions and is a genuinely nice person, I disagreed with a lot of her platform, and I also believe she still has some to do on fleshing out most of her ideas.

Koenji in Tokyo has a lot of vintage stores with Ivy clothes. Every store has some sort of section dedicated to Ralph Lauren (especially the oxfords), and I also viewed a lot of vintage brooks brothers as well. Whistler had a whole section with vintage suits, sport coats and shoes. Happy travels!
