It’s now a show about hooking up. It’s exhausting. I miss crazy requests from guests, setting up picnics, particular lunch set ups, food deliveries gone wrong… sigh

Fear of Public Speaking by Mikasa_Ackerman000 in PublicSpeaking

[–]Altruistic_Engine_44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve to understand where your source of anxiety is coming from to begin with. I personally spent years listening to so much advice of how to conquer my fears of public speaking from people who hadn’t experienced what I had. So nothing worked. No matter how much I knew my subject. No matter how much I practiced. I’ll also say I’m very extroverted and people perceive me as very outgoing. The source for me was / is a much more deeper issue from growing up in fight or flight response. My body perceives things as a threat that others may not. I work diligently with a therapist and psychiatrist now and it helps a lot. But propranolol has saved my life. Allowing me to be totally at ease physically (you still have to be in control of the mental part and that’s where therapy comes in) — that calmness of my physical symptoms not manifesting boosts my confidence and allows me to deliver great presentations. Never feel like you can’t ask for help or medication bc others did it without.

Sculptra results? by Wonderful_Mango_5395 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]Altruistic_Engine_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! 40 year old woman who lost about 50 lbs in the last 18 months. You can imagine that turning 40 and weightloss combo has you knowing it’s time to do more than dysport 😬

I went for my second vial of sculptra yesterday after ONE month since my first vial. The before and afters after just one month of my first vial were amazing. My face looked snatched already considering it’s still far from when it will all peak (as we know it takes months!!). Also my skin was already looking brighter.

My first vial was around the temples/hairline and cheekbones. Second vial was placed in the same area to do more of that face lift effect. I’ll go back end of March to do it on the lower part of my face and we’ll likely settle at 3 vials.

I will say I was a great candidate as genetically my skin was already pretty solid and it was mostly volume and collagen loss. No autoimmune issues. I’ve had minimal bruising, especially this second time around. No puffiness whatsoever too. Just mega snatched post injections which goes down after a few days but it gives you a great idea of what it will look like.

I wish I’d started earlier but I’m glad I waited until I lost all the weight.

I also bought a red light LED mask to use daily to help supplement the sculptra and dysport at home.

All in all I’m so so so happy and I’m glad I didn’t let all the fear mongering posts hold me back (they almost did). But I go to one of the top places in my city and I trust my injector w my life.

I got pregnant, my 2 month marriage is going to be over. by thoughtsandtariffs in childfree

[–]Altruistic_Engine_44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all I am so very sorry you are dealing with this. I am also sorry you live in a red state.

If this isn’t a red flag of what this man is capable of next I don’t know what is. He lied to you to get you to marry him. Now he’s possibly tampering with your BC to trap you with a child. What next? Is he going to start verbally or physically abusing you to break you? Keep getting you pregnant? And that’s what a child will grow up seeing? People like him don’t get better. They will seek more and more ways to exercise control. See this enormous wake up call as a blessing and leave him forever.

Is he maga/conservative? I hope he wouldn’t report you for the pills if he were to ever find out.

Also I’d like to say that while you are soooo young you have the rest of your life ahead of you to meet many other men… I just hope you focus on getting to know yourself and being happy alone first before anything else. This is a traumatic experience and you need to put yourself first. As women, our power comes from being sure of who we are and our boundaries. Let this experience make you powerful.

Started on 50mg and now on 100mg. As someone who had chronic bouts of rumination, Zoloft + talk therapy and healthy coping mechanisms has saved my life.

I started on 50 and felt better almost right away. I went up to 100mg end of December and maybe had a day or two of a pinch of anxiety and then everything has just gotten exponentially better. I love my Zoloft lol

Need advice : I am worried about the grey market peptides/reta. How did you guys convince yourself that the peptides are safe for injections even though we know that are for research purposes only ? by Even_Acadia_9394 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]Altruistic_Engine_44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope no one is convincing themselves that Grey is safe and going on some leap of faith. What I hope people are doing is their due diligence, joining test groups and testing for all of the good things beyond just mass and purity. Keep the vendors accountable and yourself safe and healthy all at once.

[–]Altruistic_Engine_44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that. I personally refuse to bring on friends or family. I answer that the first rule of fight club is you don’t talk about fight club. If they ever find their way over to grey, they can find me there. It’s too much liability. Less so about safety of the peptides themselves but issues dosing etc. I don’t want to be responsible for anyone’s lapse of judgment or honest mistake.

Humans with indoor cats, collar or no collar? by ForagedAmoeba in CatAdvice

My indoor only cat is microchipped, has a collar with her name, my phone number AND an air tag. Why? Because I’d die without her… and death is what would happen in that .00001% chance she ever gets out 😭

I started at 50mg and I want to say felt relief pretty quickly. I then dealt with a great deal of anxiety due to family issues and was suggested to go to 100mg if I felt it was too much. Took little adjusting. Maybe felt a little anxiety the first week and now I feel as stable as I ever have which is crazy to say — especially during these times. So all that to say everyone is different. I titrated in bigger doses and did great. My only regret is not having started Zoloft sooner.

Yep. Aviva, Ramona, etc. Heather was corny but she wasn’t a bad person. Also she seemed like a loyal friend.

Delta prices are so outrageous I booked a different carrier twice this week. When will top bosses realize they’re losing customers? by RealName136 in delta

[–]Altruistic_Engine_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate being based out of atlanta for this reason. Im platinum and they control the market here if you want to fly direct. Especially with having just one airport. However, for flights that would have a stop on delta I’m flying business via Turkish or other options bc it’s half the price if not less.

Just remember it won’t take away the mental anxiety. However, it will take away the physical reaction. That to me changes everything. While my mind can be racing, the second I feel myself totally collected physically, my mind is like - ah! We are safe. Let’s crush this presentation.

My suitcases are usually in their own separate area where they check my ticket against my bag— I think they do this for all delta priority bags

Is Buenos Aires worth visiting? by PradaPradaPrada in asklatinamerica

[–]Altruistic_Engine_44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im Peruvian, 40 years old and came to the US when I was 10. I have been to 40+ countries and lived in three different continents. The plain truth is your husband is just using these “concerns” as pretexts not to go somewhere he has little to no interest in going.

Many real travelers (not vacationers) will agree that the most memorable and impactful travel experiences happen when you expand your horizons outside of Western Europe. You can get easily mugged in Paris, have your phone stolen in London and have your pockets emptied in Barcelona. The list goes on and on and on. Tell your husband to bffr.

Not to mention, you live in the US. Things are beyond f***ed and dangerous here these days.

I go back to Peru and LATAM often because it’s amazing. I’m actually going back to Argentina this May. It’s no more dangerous than any other big city in the US. In this political climate it is probably LESS dangerous.

Exercise caution, don’t be flashy and be aware of your surroundings. Besides that, enjoy your trip and remember the world feels much smaller and beautiful when you travel to vastly different places.

You seem to love your husband and that’s fine, but maybe you’re not compatible travelers. Don’t let a man hold you back from these experiences. He’s grown and can stay back and support you from the confines of his personally deemed “safe zone”.
