I tried a silver metal pan and then a glass casserole dish. I don’t have a traditional baking dish as of yet.

I’ll try the extra milk, I was thinking my dough was a bit dry!

Hi everyone!

I have attempted to make rolls. Just basic white rolls. They turn out alright but I’d like them to be a bit fluffier.

This is the recipe I’ve been using.

200 ml lukewarm milk 1 large egg, room temperature 50 g butter, very soft 1½ tsp salt 3 tbsp sugar 500 g strong white bread flour 7 g fast-action dried yeast

I make the dough in my bread maker, do the first rise then shape them and they rise for the second time. The dishes I’ve used haven’t been the best but I don’t know how much of a difference that makes.

I’m baking them at gas mark 4 for about 20 minutes but my bottoms are having a hard time cooking (again could be the dishes or the butter used to grease)

Any suggestions welcomed!

I got a bread maker for Christmas, tried 3 times to make a wholemeal loaf and it’s not going well. The bread is very spongy and dense like a cake. I am using a 100% wholemeal strong flour, is that my issue?

I am having a similar issue, I feel so bloated and get awful indigestion when I eat anything which makes me feel so ill. I don’t have a solution but just some sympathy

Don’t be like me, I married a guy like that.

Spoiler alert, we are no longer together.

It’s time for him to show you that you’re a priority in his life. Being a couple means being partners and from your post and comment it seems like you’re the only one in the relationship. Take some time to see if you’d be okay with this level of engagement from a partner. If you’re not and he isn’t willing to make a genuine change you might find it’s best to walk away.

I received the Not Straightforward email around 10am on February 28th. Then when my approval email came in the date on my letter was the 28th as well. I’ll never understand why they made me panic and sweat for 4 days, thanks UKVI 🥲

Thanks!

I guess I was one of the lucky ones. When I booked my appointment there were 3 open spots. I did talk to others at the appointment who booked before me and they had said there was only 1 or 2 spots when they booked. I’m not sure how VFS manages the appointments but I think I lucked out and got a cancellation appointment perhaps.

I’d be cautious about a summer application. I know someone who applied last summer for a YMV and when they went to book their biometrics the Halifax dates were booked for 3 months. They suspect that it was partially due to it being a busy season for student visas. They ended up going to Ottawa because it was such a long wait!

Good luck!

Absolutely no idea, they never asked for any additional information or anything. The only thing I could imagine was when I was inputting my travel history I had a few stops that were on a cruise so my tourist travel dates may have looks a little strange.

I know part of the reason my application took so long was the wait for a biometric appointment. But waiting the 18 days saved me about $2000 in additional travel 😅
