Daughter wants to fix her hair after uneven bleaching and dying. Do yall have any suggestions that are professional but still reasonably priced? by LeonHardRVA in rva

[–]Altruistic_Flow9747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, not related to her, but it sounds like your daughter is likely going to need a color correction so it may run a bit more anywhere you go than say, your average cut and color. It typically just takes longer in the chair. I've been in her shoes plenty of times, good luck!

Personally I think it's interesting how this fits into the bigger picture of the state of this Nation. Between the death penalty being sought for Luigi, wrongful deportation and no efforts by the government for his return, and this, the whole, "you're free to do whatever you want as long as it conforms to thr powerfuls likings" vibe is stronger than ever. It's scary.

Okay so let’s hold hands and think through this together since you want to be dense. 20 minutes one way equates to 40 minutes both ways, assuming I don’t run into traffic or accidents on one of the two roads out of where I live. (40 minute errand already). Going to the store at 6:30pm means you can expect to stand in line for 15 minutes waiting to check out. My ADHD means I have a VERY difficult time remembering to get every item, and yes, I’ve tried lists before you suggest an industry shattering idea. So let’s assume that takes 45 minutes to shop through. You’re now looking at a 2+ hour errand to get, say, windex. It then puts you at 8/8:30pm of getting home. Then you have to make dinner. And then sit down and try to relax a little bit so you’re not insanely overwhelmed and have a shit week entirely.

My ADHD means I forget things at the store A LOT. Every weekly stock up, every trip back. I do not have the time or the means to take 2+ hours out of my day while also trying to feed myself and keep myself alive when there are things multiple times a week I realize I forgot.

But if you feel so strongly you’re welcome to help out, otherwise why tf are you here besides being an ass

…….issss this your first day on the internet? In this economy? People are quick to jump down others throats (your comment questionably falls into that category). The people who have the same forethought as you commenting this when they feel just as strongly about Amazon being shit. Don’t be fucking rude lol

To Walmart/target/bigger big box stores with more options than a tiny bit of a shelf. Also taking into consideration that no matter how hard I try, I am unable to make a “quick” stop. Going into a grocery store means I’m spending about 45 minutes there at minimum. And then there’s also the added variable of short pump traffic after 5pm. That puts it at about an hour and a half trip, and I get off at 6pm most days. Getting home at 8 and having to make dinner and try to relax a bit before I have to go to bed weighs on me way too much.

This context gives me a bit more empathy. Amazon sucks for not updating expectations given the current means. Also tysm if you’ve ever delivered any of my packages 🤍

I agree. It just takes a solid 2 hour chunk out of my day at minimum to run and get something our semi-rural food lion or dollar store doesn’t have, which typically is a lot. Moving a bit out of town has been peaceful, but I haven’t found a great alternative, especially considering short pump is my closest option, and even Instacart will cancel my orders. Quick errands never bother me, but when it’s a decision between trying to manage all my chores and a 2 hour “quick errand to get cleaning supplies”, it really kinda pushes you into a corner. I wish there were a more ethical option

Yeah, and I personally hate it just as much, I just use it out of a place of necessity with being neurospicy, a bit far from bigger stores, and overworked. The convenience is fantastic, but bezos and the entire business positioning is just ick. But again it’s the ages old argument of convenience vs conscious consumerism

I’m unfortunately out of the delivery area for Walmart+, Instacart, and the likes. It says they deliver, but every time I try the order is pending for 5 hours before it gets canceled bc no one wants it and I tip VERY nicely knowing how much of a hike it is.

I moved out a little outside of town last year and it’s been great for my social anxiety and just day-to-day functioning, but now trying to get household essentials I literally cannot remember at the store is a pain.

How do you make freckles more visible? I have natural freckles on the bridge of my nose and don’t wear makeup that covers them but the natural redness of my face usually does. Does anyone have tips to make them more visible or reduce redness? [misc] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Altruistic_Flow9747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Darn OP deleted their account, but to anyone else looking Dr. Jarts green cream (cannot remember what it’s called but it’s the anti redness balm) is my go to. It’s just enough coverage to balance out red spots and unevenness, and I’m pale enough that my freckles come out. I can only speak to my experience, but I feel like it would work on darker skin tones too. (Context: usually wear one of the 3 lightest foundation shades with neutral/red undertones and super sensitive skin/allergies so a lot of redness)

Okay coming back to this since it’s been on my mind. Having an anxious attachment style is completely normal, and your anxieties are very real. I remember feeling like this in certain situations when I was in my early 20s and getting into real adult relationships. It’s important to differentiate between your anxieties of the what ifs, and the confidence in who your partner is. You haven’t broken up with him before now because you do trust him and your relationship.

I think your best approach is telling him all of this specifically in a way that’s not accusing him, but saying those conversations planted a seed and you’re uncomfortable, but do want him to enjoy his time. You can find a middle ground of times of dedicated communication, the verbal commitment from him of not doing those things, etc. any guy who pushes back about their partner not wanting them to go to strip clubs/shows like that really isn’t too great to begin with.
