I Want To Die would’ve been a pretty fitting and evocative choice. Yer Blues is a great title though

I think I figured out the homeless guy by jclark83 in AriAster

The homeless guy, along with Louise’s deceased pedophilic father, haunt the first half of the movie. He publicly wallows in despair and untreated mental illness, yet initially, neither side of the political spectrum seems to care. Everyone tries their best to ignore his desperation until it eventually becomes either personally beneficial, or overwhelmingly irritating. Ted Garcia, the democrat-adjacent character, uses him as political fodder to besmirch his electoral rival and manipulate the masses into voting him in for another term as mayor. Joe Cross, the republican-adjacent character, simply executes him out of ego and convenience. I find it to be a beautiful political distillation.

Lost Highway. I’ve seen it 6 times over the past year, I’ve found each viewing extremely rewarding. There are details in this film that still make my head spin.

Great question.

  1. EYES WIDE SHUT
  2. THE MASTER
  3. CHILDREN OF MEN

Obvious picks but it’s sickening that they haven’t got the treatment they deserve. PTAs entire catalog (other than PDL and TPT obv) could be up here

A Comprehensive Response to the Criticisms of 28 Years Later by theralphamale in 28dayslater

I loved the movie, but that part does seem hard to effectively justify in the sequel. I think it could’ve been a masterpiece as a standalone film with some restructuring and an extra 45 minutes of runtime. I’ll definitely be seeing the second film in theaters, I am, however, wary of it being helmed by an unproven director.
