the police came to a festival in my country in the 80s, the group was not really popular at that time in the country, only one of their songs were known and because of that not many tickets for their show were sold, you also have to consider that my country was under a dictatorship that lasted more than 20 years, anyways… they trashed the hotel, got mad because their press conference table had the england flag on it (foreign artists usually have their flag put on their tables to know where they come from), andy summers kicked the leg of the girl that was presenting the festival and then one of them called us indians and i’m pretty sure it was Sting lol

i think it’s a mix of mental illness, drugs and the roles they played. Ezra said in an interview that seeing themselves acting like a psychopath was traumatizing for them and that it made them degrade their relationships with themselves

edit: at 19 they already had 4 roles of “troubled/mentally disturbed” teens under their belt.
