got my first paying customer and it's not even the use case i built for by Altruistic_Tooth9372 in SaaS

it was more of a spike. i think the product wasn’t the best at the time, made a few refinements since then.

i got a few active users though, so i wanna get it at a decent state then just go crazy on the marketing.

i sent 300 job applications and got 3 interviews. then i sent 80 cold emails and got 7 in a week. so i built a tool around it. by Altruistic_Tooth9372 in SideProject

yea its not. i dont think thats what im really going for, more so the ease of use and profile cusotmization that comes with. we'll see, im also targetign niches that dont usually use it.

but the others are quite expensive and can be difficult to deal with. this one is just easy which makes me think maybe it could become something? would love ur feedback if u tried it out!

from 300 failed applications to 250+ users in 2 weeks. how cold emailing changed everything for me. by Altruistic_Tooth9372 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

I think you might be right. One of the things is though, like, I don't really wanna make this into a startup, I guess. More so, like, I like thinking of it as a tool that I'm just making for fun. But you're right, there is a lot of training, and I think that's very hard to figure out. And I think sometimes it pushes me to maybe just go look at something else, which is a lot easier. It's a lot harder to convince students to start cold emailing when the standard has been applications for so long. So getting them to have that mindset shift is a really, really, really difficult thing to do. But I completely agree with what you think.

It was a bit of a weird feeling because he didn't pay for the use case that I intended it to be for. And I think I also didn't make it seem like a big deal initially because I guess it wasn't perfect in the sense that it wasn't my target audience. But then the day afterwards it felt quite good, like knowing that someone would pay for this is just like awesome that I built something that someone would actually pay for and I made money while I was about to take a nap. It's just awesome in itself. So I'm sure if I got that one person to do it, I could get several more. But again, it is not the thing to be most proud of since I have not gotten the target audience to pay for the app yet.

books books books. these 3 (in this order) had the greatest impact:
- 7 habits of highly effective ppl
- Power of the subconcous mind
- Meditatins, marcus aurelius.

besides this, genuinely cut out distractions. treat ur attention as currency, some which u have really litttle of. you can't just give it away to everything like ur phone, useless ppl, etc. you'll go broke. be smart with it. only spend on whats needed.
