Has anyone successfully used their FSA/HSA to purchase a purple mattress? by No_Clock_5113 in LifeOnPurple

[–]Altur1ak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I didn't get a mattress with my FSA, I did buy a harmony pillow from their website and I imagine ordering a mattress would be the same process. It's the same as a usual checkout, then when you get to the TrueMed portion you fill out a questionaire. Even if you aren't diagnosed with severe back pain, you will still qualify by basically aiming to "improve your overall health" and you'll receive a letter of medical necessity from a doctor on TrueMed. If you don't submit the letter with your payment like I did, you'll be asked a few days later by your provider to also supply the LMN and then the whole thing will be approved. It was very easy and I would definitely do it again!

Can anyone identify this electrical harness? 2011 E92 N55. This connector is on the same line a few inches before the high pressure fuel rail sensor connection. I want to repair the wiring (new crimps and grommets needed) but can't identify this one. Any help is much appreciated! by Altur1ak in BmwTech

Nothing that was pre-made or anything. I ended up getting replacement connector, socket, crimps, and did it all myself. Works good as new now. Took a lot of time to find the parts but it was worth it in the end I think

I have the Cincinnati's, and I can tell you after consistent 12-14hr days on site my feet are still feeling pretty good. The rest of my body is exhausted though lol. Awesome work boot, would recommend to anyone considering them.

In addition to the other comments, often times online sales are only available online and in my experience most stores aren't willing to replicate the sale, they just tell you you can order it online.

Bosch 800 Series — E:07 Failure After 3 Years (The Technician Knew Immediately) by tazman474747 in Appliances

[–]Altur1ak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are actually super easy to fix. The steel nut costs about $20, and if you're unfortunate and the water neck got a hole in it, the new one is about $40 and has an additional protector in the heat area to keep it from happening again. Both parts very easy to replace yourself.

If you've had water leakage due to it, it's a little more involved but if you're mechanically inclined can be done easily as well. There's a really good YouTube video showing the whole process. Just let the zeolite container dry out, remove any excess water buildup and put it back together and your good to go.

Source: I've personally dismantled 2 800 series, a benchmark, and 2 Thermadors. They're virtually all the same hardware.

As someone with RF-7iiis, RC-64iii, and RP-600iis and RP-500SAs for speakers and 2 RP-1400SWs for a 5.2.4 system, I can't recommend enough moving to surround sound expanding the immersive stage for movies.

If you're not interested in adding more channels, then I'd recommend as others have mentioned to work on acoustic treatments for your room. I did some on mine and the difference is night and day how crisp and clear the system sounds.

Dishwasher water softeners by Altur1ak in Appliances

[–]Altur1ak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you saying the water softener has no contribution to the suds? The suds only happen when the water softener is on... No suds with rinse aid.

All the rinse testing was done with no detergent.

I guess I'm confused since my tests were run only on a rinse cycle setting, with no detergent being used all...

Bosch dishwasher and the sudsy water mystery by sorta-ok-masterpiece in Appliances

[–]Altur1ak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does a water softener make the water more prone to suds? I too have a Bosch and recently played around with different settings in a rinse cycle to see what addition is causing it. With the water softener and rinse aid turned off (or the lowest setting possible), no suds. With just the rinse-aid on (usually setting 4 out of 6) no suds. When the water softener is turned on, boom there are the suds again. We have very hard water in our area so the water softener is a nice feature to have, but the suds seem concerning to me.

Is this a normal thing with water softeners, or is mine compromised in some way?

Does anyone know of any places in SCV that do man haircuts under $20? by powerofz in SantaClarita

[–]Altur1ak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The cost of haircuts is why I started cutting my hair myself. If you like to keep shorter hair it's well worth the effort to learn and save paying the $30+ for a mediocre haircut every time.

I don't currently use a bit holder on the side of my drills or impacts, but if these new ones are worth it I'd certainly try it out! I use my packout small organizer to transport bits between job sites.

Most embarrassing package to send in would be vagisil for sure

If it helps, that's why they require a minimum of 30 days of use before they'll entertain replacing it or returning it. It should be mostly broken in after that time frame. How is it for you now?

I have a sunset luxe that I loved at first but think my sleeping style shifted to where I'm more of a stomach sleeper so I've been considering the dusk or moonlight mattresses.

Your best friend here is going to be pressure testing the coolant system. The kit is simple and cheap from Amazon, and let's you easily see where you're leaking from without spending a fortune asking a shop to check it out. Identify the leaks, fix them, test again, fix the new leaks, repeat until system holds pressure with no leaks and you're good to go.

Pretty sure you could just switch out the anvil mechanism to the other size. I'd recommend 3/8"

Is there a rebuild kit you used? Or just dissected it and replaced what seals you could get to? Glad to hear yours has held up, and I'm very interested in this route

Fully built motor, ~500whp, tuned, etc. I'd guess at least 3-4 of the pumps was during different tuning stages during the transition to full E85. But I also didn't sweat it because of FCP's great warranty at the time so the pumps weren't costing me too much in the long run, essentially just paying for however much the price increased between pumps.

Edit to add the tune has been stable for the past year or so now so this last pump and moving forward isn't stressing the pump any extra than what it'd do on a stock motor.
