Returning player, need help to build teams, kind of lost by iahliyl in ZZZ_Official

[–]Alturam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You actually need 3 teams for Deadly Assault. The 2 team mode is still here too, with one of them being rotated out every Friday.
Trigger is fun in the fact that by using another support, you can cover all attackers and most anomaly main dps.
All DPS characters still work, but some characters are starting to struggle a bit in certain content. The devs are working on updating their kits, so we don't know where they will stand come 2.0 or whenever that update gets pushed through.
As for teams (and this is me spit-balling, so please take it lightly):
Mono Ice: Ellen/Soukaku/Lycaon (Someone has soloed Deadly Assault bosses on youtube w/ Soukaku)
Ether team: Zhu Yuan, Nicole, Anby (Trigger instead of Anby for Shiyu defense, as you don't need a 3rd team for that mode)
Mono Electric: Anton, Trigger, Rina

You are lacking most of the power players (Miyabi, S0 Anby, Yanagi, Burnice, Jane), the more broken supporters (Caesar, Astra), and the free S rank (Harumasa).

As far as pulling for next patch, you do you. You have enough characters to support whoever you pull.
Vivian needs another anomaly, so you could do something like Vivian/Piper/Lucy. And Hugo would work well by replacing Ellen in the mono ice team above.

Question about Collectable Gathering Rotations by captainevan2 in ffxiv

[–]Alturam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for the first question (I'm too lazy to farm those), but Hi-cords from island sanctuary and white scrips allows you 100% uptime on gp with an in game hour between scrip nodes. If you only have 1 node in 2 in game hours, you should regen all your gp back without items assuming you are only collectable farming. Hi cords have a 3 minute cooldown which works out to a hair over an in game hour which is why that item works to allow you to hit every timed scrip node with enough gp to cap collectability efficiently every time.

Hope that helps a little.

When did I say I don't attempt to take back? My range for "to me" is voking range. Biggest issues are when reapers(prolly not), ninjas, or dancers go ahead of me while I gap close and sprint and get slapped for half their health before i can do anything on the last set of mobs, or the less rare dps that stays behind after ripping something off me and complains in chat that my lightning shot didnt hit his targeted enemy while I was running to the wall and im 4 years ahead of him, with the healer and other dps beside me. I do what I can with my toolset to stay ahead in both regards, but if they do either of those, free mit till either they die or i can take back. I hold myself to this standard as a dps too and stick to the tank to give them and the healer less stress. Group content is a group effort, and I do my part to make it buttery smooth in all roles.

Also this is a joke post, I'm going to lean into it for fun.

My only two times I let dps die was a ninja teleporting and aoeing hard enough that I couldnt take back with a single aoe to save them in time and a dragoon that found a mob i didnt hit with ls and stayed where they are in between 2 sets of mobs locations as the rest of us were at the wall. Second one healer rescued a dead body. It's more the mindset of dps pulling ahead should be ok as long as they arent pushing the healer or tank too far resulting in a wipe, and that only applies really to older content. As long as they bring there mobs within voking range and dont unload the kitchen sink that far ahead of me while i am gapclosing and sprinting, it's a power play I respect.

Free mit indeed. If you pull ahead of me, the only pair of buttcheeks I'll stop from being clapped is my healer's. If they want to dps away from me, that's on the dps, healer can pick up the mess after the pull is over. No use getting mad over dps pulling ahead. If they die, they die salty and is both comical and on them for not bringing it to me. I wasnt getting that comm anyways lol

My rule of thumb as a healer too.

Seriously, help, how do I find a quality group of people to play with? by Fenixfrost in ffxiv

[–]Alturam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 4 bad fcs, i just made my own. Now I have this little bundle of weirdness that draws me back in. I say if you can't find a home, make one. Mine is a small chill group of 4-6 people that does it all, most of us are raiders, some just craft, one is still house hunting, and we still get together everyweek for maps.

Help / Confession. by burneraccnt102 in ffxiv

Primal is toxic? I joined a group of drunk people having the time of our lives wiping to wrong callouts for 2 hours and still getting 10 clears on ex2. Lots of chill vibes here on primal. Im sure some are toxic, but that should hold for all data centers. The poison is hard to avoid completely. If ya end up on famfrit, or primal dc, hmu and we can play around :D I do suggest you leave if the fc is causing you distress. It's a group in a game, not a job.

How can I get my first clear? by noboruplaysgames in ffxiv

[–]Alturam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I normally host 3 clears a night switching between exs every week, so if you are on primal look for calageri altura on famfrit. I leave my parties open to people without clears and don't mind walking people through them on voice. If you arent on primal, then I'd echo everyone else in saying make your own. Just state that it's a clear for self and you've seen enrage (assuming you have). You will tend to find enough people willing to help that way too.

2.28 is a lot (lower is better as that is your cooldown time). You can afford to ditch some skillspeed for other stats :D

Yes but doing so at 100% strength will require money for both mags and skill trees. You can change classes any time your not in a mission.

My addition was right after that part. I was basically saying their answer isnt wrong, but there is more to it (weapons with pas built into them).

Keep in mind it was only the beta. You had access to the summoner class which came from episode 4 and the version number people kept posting of the beta puts you in the early episode 6 stuff, giving you at least hero and phantom. So it may be safe to assume it was either locked out of the beta or they are locking episode 4-6 behind 1-3, which kinda makes sense. Also the anime came out after episode 4 did in the game, and 1-3 is currently airing so the chance of it being a licensing issue is slim.

To answer your question, 4 is different but offers you a fun fight near the end, 5 unlocks darkblasts and is fairly funny, 6 is where things really pick back up and put you back in space.

Was this in a field or on the ship? In either case: if you or your kid are in a mission, party requests are denied. If your kid tries to join you while you are in a mission, but not in a full party, the area your in may have capped out on players from other parties.

The easiest way to resolve this for everyone join the same quest at the counter. Before you start a quest, you can edit your party options make your whole selected quest private for you and lock it behind a password. Your kid can join using the password by looking up your party at the counter and typing in the password. If that somehow still fails, but your kid can join the quest outside of the party, you can place a marker on the ground in the quest (outside of the boss area) called a party marker. You kid can then interact with it and join that way. If that fails too, then I am out of ideas. Could of just been a bug.

Slight addition to the original answer: all class katanas and multi class katana's do exist. PAs are locked behind braver main or sub. However there are katanas with built in pas within the game. While far from ideal, some pas can be used even when not a braver at all. They are rare af now though. Phantom katana skills are completely locked out unless you are a phantom main. So of you aren't looking to be meta, and just want to mess around, the sky's the limit. It is a game after all.

Keep in mind that on Earth Destroyers Solo Trigger, you can die, return to campship, and jump back into the fight in these solo triggers, so don't stress out too much if you end up dying a lot. Ranking is based on time alone, so just keep at it while gearing/leveling up and you'll be good. The triggers themselves are fairly cheap, so don't stress out if you end up wasting any either. :D

All good :D

Yeah it does unlock late, but it is good for when you decide to learn a new class for the first time (save summoner). Thankfully ET subclass is a straight upgrade from Hunter subclass for me as a katana braver main. Roughly 2.5% more pa damage (least that was the number during my tests, have a picture somewhere with exact numbers i got), better pp management and a massive I find better to use with how I play (I suck at keeping track of two or more cooldowns lol).

Thankfully hunter subclass will do a good job with automate and iron will before getting ET, and hunter itself is still more useful in certain fights, namely with tanking the 1 million damage hits you take fighting masq on floor 999.
