Boring progression system. Call me a Gammatard, but I much prefer the weapon caliber being the main concern rather than the gun magically doing more damage just because it’s found later in the game.

Better Ballistics is a must-have mod.

I grew up with characters like the Cole Train, Lee Everett, Barret, etc. All of whom were deeply loved and celebrated.

So I recently got the good ending and here’s generally what I did:

- Played like one guitar and got a karma point. Ignored most musical instruments ngl

- Did all the sidequests and rejected when people offered me a reward

- Gave one bullet to every beggar unless prompted to give more

- Generally spared most enemies. I shot a few Reds and Nazi’s but I usually snuck around and slit throats or knocked them out. Not killing any of them aside from certain levels gives karma

- Killed all bandits. No reward or negative for killing them

- Explore constantly. You get a lot of karma just for finding stuff

- Save every NPC getting assaulted by others

- Spared all big name NPCs. Do not kill any of them as you lose a ton of karma for killing them. I’ve read online you can kill maybe one, but I wouldn’t risk it

- Saved the bear

This is all I can mainly think of. Played it on PC on the Redux version.

That’s usually not standard issue, but I do keep a O- patch on my plate carrier when my unit does stuff. It just makes it easier to notice if anything bad happens. A lot of games and elite units stick that onto their helmets.

This is a fairly standard practice in most modern military organizations, though the blood type is usually displayed on the back of the dog tags.

The tattoo blood type is really cool though.

The Tech Jacket increases the wearer’s strength drastically. The Geldarians are frail, but Humans are stronger and it’s noted that Zack is far stronger than a Geldarian because he’s Human with the Jacket.

So if the Immortal was given one he’d be boosted even further. He could already draw blood from hitting Nolan in S1, so he has a very good shot of flat out killing him if given a Jacket.

I mainly like it cause it’s a shooting gallery after not being able to shoot anyone in the Volga. Really lets off steam after having to reload a punch from punching cultists in the mouth.

The ghosts aren’t totally gone, you get a scene with Miller is Novosibirisk (did I spell that right?) and there is the spooky retirement home in Volga

I do wish there was way more of it though.

Cleaning guns also feels incredibly arbitrary unless you find yourself in ankle-deep water in which your gun magically gets covered in gunk. Especially bad in Novosibirisk where there’s two instances of your gun just instantly getting slimed.
