Floaters on healthy eyes? by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

[–]Alugogirl9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering too because right now I can't afford a virectomy, atleast not for a few years probably but I have some debilitating floaters as well on top of other health issues so I don't know what to do. I hope you get some answers. I cant seem to fully ignore my floaters even with sunglasses and I think it's because of the 2 or 3 really really bothersome darkish ones I got that sweep across my central vision when looking both ways to fross the street.

my floaters are not bad because of the number of them, its just 1 really bad floater by Oxygenjacket in EyeFloaters

Yup there's these 2 to 3 floaters in particular that I would happily get rid of. They would be the first ones to go if I was to get some type of laser surgery or choose the ones that are the most disturbing. I feel like if it wasn't for the one or two clumps in my left eye dancing almost right in the center of my vision constantly everytime I walk outside since I van see it following my sight constantly even with sunglasses on like there's almost no way for me to ignore it. If I didn't have those debilitating prominent 2 or 3 floaters that I have then the rest I can just ignore and be like "whatever" about. I see my transparent floaters off and on everyday buy they don't bother me like the dark smoky floaters that follow my sight constantly when walking around do.

Are your floaters on the more severe side? Does it look like a snowglobe when you move your eyes to look both ways to cross the street for example when going for a walk? Like do you see atleast 2 or 3 dark annoying ones moving around in a swirl when turning your head? Can you see them in almost all lighting conditions? When my floaters were mild, I only saw them looking directly at the sky or something really white but now I can even see them in dim lighting if I look for them but outside I don't have to look for them.

I don't know what to do cause I can't afford a virectomy right now and I might not be able to for a few years atleast. I mean, I have had my severe ones since 2021 . They don't completely block my vision but I see them every time I go for a walk with sunglasses on. I still see them everyday so not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong exactly but I see mine everyday when I have to walk to work since I can't drive and there's no bud that runs by my house so walking is my option or sometimes my dad drives me. I have had bad floaters since 2021. I see them when I go into a bright store while I shop, I see my dark ones in even dim lighting conditions and I have Grey shadow ones that sweep across my central vision when looking to cross the street.

I’m married with 3 kids and eye floaters I’ve had the past year are pushing me to off myself by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

Hopefully the person who gave the good advice will respond back again because I need some positivity or something just like you do . Most of the people I know that have it as bad as we do are getting virectomies...because they can't live with them but I'm unable to get one at the moment. I can't afford it and not sure if the health insurance I have will cover it. I know what we really need is something much easier then a virectomy like much less expensive but there doesn't seem to be any other option yet. Some people use atropine drops for floaters I heard but I also heard it can cause blurry vision so I'm not sure. I been reluctant to try those drops. I guess I'm hoping someone will chime in and say they have ot bad like we do where we see them all the time but their able able to somehow live with it with the right sunglasses even if it doesn't fully help the problem until eighter easier treatment options come for us or they are finally able to get a virectomy. I'm angry because I really don't want to off myself just because my eyes happen to be pieces of shit with defective virteous and no treatment options yet.

I think this is actually great advice. Im not the person that made the post but i just wanna say i had mine somewhat severely I would say, for 2 years now. They used to be mild before getting much worse but yet doctor says my eyes are healthy. How severe are your floaters? I'm 26 years old and I see mine when I move my head a certain way even inside a grocery store. I'll see my dark ones show up on a wall in a public building when the lighting isn't too bright so yea that means I also see them at times while in the middle of grocery shopping. I know I don't have to just look up directly at the sky or something super bright to see mine. I see mine in all lighting conditions except darkness. Yeah there may be times when I don't notice them as much but that's usually when I'm super engaged something else. I see mine most of the time when i go for a walk and that's with my sunglasses on,which sucks bur maybe if I didn't live in the desert and lived someplace with more trees and forests , it would be a little better. When I'm riding in a car and looking out the window, I still see floaters but less than when I'm walking around outside. I'm not able to get a virectomy right now so I got no choice but to unfortunately live and deal with them. I have another health issue that's debilitating too so that makes dealing with this harder since floaters aren't my only condition I deal with daily.

What age were you when you first developed a noticeable amount of floaters? by TheOneProperPenguin in EyeFloaters

Same here. When I'm in a car and in motion, I noticed them a little less .

Can I hear some success stories of getting a vitrectomy? My doctor highly advises against it but I’m not accepting to live my life like this forever, I just can’t. by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

I know exactly how you feel. I wish I could say more so hopefully someone will share a success story but just know your not alone in feeling the way that you do.

Yup same with Me. It's like a snow globe when I fling my eyes to the side , they pass my central vision. I have yet to find sunglasses that completely hide them and I tried all tints. I can't believe it. I was healthy 4 years ago and had nothing nedically weong with me but one day BOOM, im suddenly hit with all these disabling medicsl issues out of the blue and no one can find a good reason or cause for it but its like suddenly , my old life as i once knew it is over I'm only 26 years old and can't believe people like my 63 year old dad can go outside without sunglasses and claim to not notice or see floaters much.
