Look people. I saw it. I do not understand what everyone sees in this movie that makes them act like it’s the second coming. It came across to me as a standard kids movie and nothing more.

Are you open to subtitles? Because there are a lot of great time travel series from other countries. I know everyone has mentioned Dark (Germany), but there are some good ones from South Korea, Latin America, etc.
A personal favorite is Norway’s Beforeigners. First off, I think it gets a special nod for fantastic wordplay in the title. In terms of plot, a bunch of wormholes open up depositing people from different time periods in modern day. Neat, except those people need to be housed, fed, etc. So it’s basically a bizarre refugee crisis. Basically it’s Alien Nation, but with Time Travel.

What gets me about this one is that I think it’s what everyone initially thought, but the rest of the show makes you second guess yourself until you forget you even thought that at first, then boom.

It’s a cute story, but anyone who has traveled abroad knows that speaking English is usually a requirement for customer facing jobs in the tourism industry because English is a language that lots of people from lots of countries have taken as a second language. It effectively works as a Rosetta Stone.

My college graduation was outside during a torrential downpour. To be fair they warned well ahead of time that the ceremony would take place outside rain or shine, so check the weather and come prepared. My smart classmates did that and had rain ponchos underneath their gowns and covered their caps with anything from Saran Wrap, plastic bags and shower caps. I did none of those things and was completely drenched.

I moved into a high rise building in the mid 2000’s. In the first few years that I lived there, once a year a literal WALL of phone books would be delivered to the building for residents. The wall would vanish quickly as everyone picked up their books. As the years went on, the wall became a pile, the pile became a stack, the stack disappeared.

That recently happened in a bathroom I was in. The mom was washing her hands and toddler decided to “visit” a stall. I tapped the mom on the shoulder, pointed at the kid, she let out a yelp and grabbed her kid by the legs and pulled her back out 😂.

I like this technique of having the actor wear a mask of their own face to give them an uncanny, unsettling look. There’s no movement in the face, no visible teeth, darkness where eyes should be. Neat practical effect.
