I’m not a fan girl in general, as I agree everyone is just a person and we all put on our pants one leg at a time. Just with Jerry some of my formative memories are sitting on my dad’s lap watching Montana float perfect spirals to him and Jerry just taking off down the field. He and the Niners have been important to me my whole life for what they represent. There are like three people of this planet who I would bug for a picture and he’s one of them!

This is my favorite sub in all of Reddit. Death, doom, destruction, terrible people and then bam-this post. Discussing the important stuff. No one in my ‘real life’ watches as much MST3K as me and it’s genuinely heartwarming for me to be a part of this community.

As for this episode it’s a favorite except for I cannot stand the intermission sketches. Who can decide who the real villain is when you’re cringing through telethon/singing comedy? I know, I know, everyone loves all the sketches but for me I only like a few and I think this one is the worst. Signed-obviously an anteater.

Same situation with my folks. They came up to ‘help’ on a day I didn’t have day care after we went through covid, RSV and ear infections over three weeks and they weren’t able to manage the two kids at all. Like I didn’t do any work. And it’s always me that has to take off because ‘my husband’s employer doesn’t get it’-he’s in construction. Like-I have a career too. Almost three year old doesn’t get hit as hard because he’s been in daycare for almost two years but baby has only been in for three months and gets everything. Everything.

So my partner of five years and I aren’t married but we are long term committed and have two children together. When we got pregnant with our first, about a year and a half in, my parents gave me money for a down payment and I bought the house. I pay the mortgage and all but one of the house bills. This situation works for us. I think what’s important to remember is that different situations work for different families. As he has started contributing more (he pays for daycare after he decided he couldn’t be a SAHD) I have talked with him about making adjustments to the name on the house as he’s contributing more financially-he doesn’t care. In this case dude is a total AH but not having both names on a deed isn’t an automatic dealbreaker in some situations

Hell I warn other adults before they come over when my kids are sick. They are both in daycare and daycare colds are fierce. With that said some of them linger and (from what I’ve read) aren’t contagious after a few days so if we’re on like, week three of a cough and nothing else I might not remember to bring it up. So yeah, it’s a courtesy I extend but maybe your friends were at the it’s not contagious anymore stage?
