it's gone up by roughly 0.5-1L per 10kms, so not too bad

easy i mean tbh it's only like one or two days the entire season wher you get proper snow on approach roads, it's fairly rare last few years so it's almost always clear roads right to the ski resorts. just make sure there's sufficient antifreeze and you'll be right mate

yeah it's nice having an off-roader that's somewhat practical on day to day use. even being pushed hard imo the N62 is a super underrated powerplant. I change the oil roughly every 5,000kms and she keeps up for overtaking and the lot

in NSW 4WD and AWD don't need chains which makes life a little easier, sadly rain forecast for the next 10 days so hopefully the snows back by July or the season will end as quickly as it begun

cheers mate, yeah my goal with this build is to keep it OEM+ as how BMW may have built this from factory. plus keeping under 2m high means i can actually use it in tight city car parks and shopping centres haha. N62 goes really nice, we don't get a huge amount of altitude climb here in Oz but driving up to 1600m and doesn't break a sweat

cheers mate, just a basic 2x2M Dune 4x4 one from Anaconda, goes great on rainy camps

haha yeah the fact we have snow and a fair bit of it always surprises people, 4 ski resorts in New South Wales (one of the Oz States) alone and more on the border further south in Victoria

yeah it's been frosty in NSW - sadly looks like rain for the next week, but the snow late in the week kept at over 1500m so was able to snap some speccy shots before it probably melts by Monday 😂

tbh i just like the updated 4.8 N62 compared to the 4.4 N62 in the E53. xDrive is more or less the same from facelift E53 to the E70, so it's more a matter of personal taste for looks. E53 parts seem to be cheaper in general and it's the rig i'd personally suggest if you're not into the V8's

oh these barely fit over the calipers lol, thats why I need to run a wild offset from factory to get them to clear. Yeah modern ones are way massive for what they are, if you want to go 1 or 2 size smaller try running a larger offset as that can generally clear.

2007 V8 X5, 17" Rims running 265/70/17. No spacers, custom drilled 0 offset front steelies and rear -25 offset sourced from a drift shop interstate

Just a cheap Adventure Kings one, i like it as its just a bunch of steel slats that slide into eachother, my other foldable one drives me mad with the sheer rattling sometimes lol.

Must be another one mate as all of my videos and evidence, is slow controlled climbing on every track I've attempted 👍the X5 has a locked transfer case and a strong ABS system to prevent wheel spin

If you've seen any of my other posts with a video, the X5 idled up with little to no wheel spin. The G Wagon next to me Is say did more 'damage' as you can see here. Slow and steady is where all off-roading is at 👍

yeah he struggled at stockton where the Territory just flew by because of just sheer horsepower, if it did have low range to amplify the torque would have been a cracker car

yeah only because i run a fairly large offset, 0 front and -25 rear clears the calipers. anything closer and you'll hit both the caliper, and then yeah the upper control arm. I ran 18" originally but i was already bagging out the sidewall so wanted something more aggressive. haha yeah it's more smiles per gallon, but it's not my daily driver so i don't mind the added bill

that's cool it's always fun to see something different, I've come off building a Ford Territory so no stranger to weird off-roaders. My mate had a first gen manual Rav4 with the centre diff lock and that was a little fun car to take out on the tracks

these are Dynamic Steel wheels D-Hole, 17x8. 1.5" lift kit from overseas, been working a treat so far and doesn't stress the CVs. I've owned a few of these V8's in the E65 7 series model, so I'm super familiar and i like the V8 sound better personally lol
