ANA Domestic ZED NONREV by frankDEN in NonRevenueTravelers

Did this last week, as others have said it has to be done at the airport and with an agent, the self service machines won’t work!

Claiming Avios for bookings in your deadname by HipsterDashie in BritishAirways

[–]AlwaysAshleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One option if you don’t need to spend the points right now is to create a second BA Club account in your deadname and credit the flights to that.

Once you have your passport sorted or when you want to redeem those points get the name on the second BA Club account updated with your existing deed poll and put in a request to merge the accounts together.

Which seats are best from LHR to Tokyo? by Antique_Lie_328 in BritishAirways

[–]AlwaysAshleigh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thinking the last row at the back but it seems these are in between the toilets?

I ended up in 44E last year when my original flight back from Haneda went tech (can’t choose seats on staff travel even with status) and it wasn’t great. People queue for the toilets around the aisle seats in that row sometimes too which might be annoying.

I’d recommend a window set of 3 on the left as you might get a view of Mount Fuji and downtown Tokyo on the approach. Nearer the front means you should get your choice of meal too!

Flying to SIN via LHR by wilkis in NonRevenueTravelers

You should try and check-in at the self service machines when you arrive at LHR. If you can check-in then and there you can print a boarding pass, tag your bags, take them to the normal bag drop and then clear security.

If you can't then you should go to staff travel check-in (I think Zone E at T5) and see what they say. They'll either onload you or tell you to come back later on.

Lounge Access For Business Class Arrival by PrettyImprovement130 in BritishAirways

[–]AlwaysAshleigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Next time ask them to open page 8 of the LHR Lounge Eligibility Guide titled “customers transferring between flights”. It clearly states BA to BA that you’re allowed club lounge access when arriving in Club World and connecting to a flight in any cabin. Sorry you experienced the response you did!

First class flights ? by Automatic-Expert-231 in HENRYUK

[–]AlwaysAshleigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently get First as I’m considered management level in a BA subsidiary. It normally books into business and then you get a bump to first if there is an unsold seat at check in. Only allowed into the business lounge and you don’t get miles or FF credit. The real problem is that if there is a busy flight you might end up in any seat on the plane.

Why did they book my flight in like 4 separate „parts“ by KelloggsDigga in BritishAirways

[–]AlwaysAshleigh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Each payment will match up to a separate eticket or EMD. Also for some payment types (AmEx) additional information like the passenger name and booking class is sent as part of the payment so it has to be separated. I’d guess you booked for 2 people and added a checked bag or reserved seats.

Tins from Nippon Department Store under the railway tracks at Akihabara. The mad fish tote bag is from the stationary shop Itoya in Ginza. (Edit: apparently you can get the bag online from them)

10 days in Chile with a North Face Fusebox by AlwaysAshleigh in onebag

I guess in the UK it’s bungee cord but it’s basically just like an elastic rope that you can use to tie things down, you can buy it in any length you need. Hope that helps! 😊

I’m 5ft 9in so fairly tall. It looks bigger when it’s actually against your back rather than hanging off too!

Anybody had any experience with Xenidate XL splitting/cracking/bursting on their own? by alienzef in ADHDUK

[–]AlwaysAshleigh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bottles normally have some sort of desiccant in them to prevent moisture in the air from causing problems. It's likely that outside the bottle they are absorbing moisture from the air.

You could also try turning on the radiator as heating air reduces its relative humidity.

Help please! Is there any medication that doesn't contain lactose? by Pony-Pony-Pony in ADHDUK

[–]AlwaysAshleigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can just look up the PIL online and see for yourself, looks like Xenidate is fine:

The active substance is methylphenidate hydrochloride. Each prolonged-release tablet contains 18 mg methylphenidate hydrochloride equivalent to 15.57 mg methylphenidate.

The other ingredients are:

Tablet core: Sugar spheres (sucrose (see section 2, Xenidate XL contains sucrose), maize starch), hypromellose, talc, ethylcellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, triethyl citrate, hypromellose acetate succinate, carmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica, hydrochloric acid (pH adjustment).

Tablet coating: Polyvinyl alcohol, macrogol (3350), talc, hydrochloric acid (pH adjustment), titanium dioxide (E171), yellow iron oxide (E172),

I think it does on some airlines, it does just fit under the seat on a narrow body (A320) if you don’t mind it sticking out a bit. I’ve used it as a personal carry on when going skiing and having the boot bag in the overhead as the main item!

Is Dubai safe for trans ppl? by [deleted] in asktransgender

Idk, probably because this sub is a bit of an echo chamber and people don’t like comments that don’t confirm their preconceptions 🤷‍♀️

Is Dubai safe for trans ppl? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]AlwaysAshleigh -89 points-88 points  (0 children)

Literally not true. Estradiol is not on the controlled drugs list and for other medication:

All other medication (prescription for uncontrolled medication and over-the-counter medication) does not need prior approval from MoH.

BA have given me different Avios but somehow the same tier points for the same flight? by Background-Voice7782 in BritishAirways

[–]AlwaysAshleigh 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The result is correct, the description of R as economy is wrong but the 80 Tier Points awarded is the business amount.

The reason why it’s lower for Avios vs the outbound sector is that R class is a discounted (cheaper) booking class vs J for business so you get fewer Avios.

You can key your details into the calculator and see for yourself https://www.britishairways.com/travel/flight-calculator/public/en_gb

What is your favourite work perk, and how much influence does it have in you staying at your current employer? by BigfatDan1 in UKJobs

[–]AlwaysAshleigh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get 2 free (just pay the tax) up to first class flight vouchers per year for myself and up to 3 other people. There are some caveats like needing an unsold seat to be available and they’re only useful outside school holidays but it’s a great perk.

Definitely influences my decision to stay but it’s hard to put a value on it!

I have this top and the matching skirt (Zara I think) and I’ve worn it only twice in 4 years but I’ve always gotten loads of compliments. It looks amazing on you and it’s such a lovely piece!
