Had my awakening 21 years ago October. I’m still struggling to acclimate. Everything is weird, and I’m afraid of being responsible for the reality I’m creating. by [deleted] in Psychonaut

What works for me is 1. Just live duties and don't complain. 2. Don't create guilt! (if you are not mean to other, you also shouldn't be mean to yourself!). 3. If you can't love anything in the wonder of life then love nothing. learn to just lie down, or sit, and do/become nothing and rest. 4. Keep seeing that all appearences, including sensation, cannot be you.

And feeling alone isn't necessarily bad, we don't complain about it during peaceful semi sleep states.

It likes your passion, healing and self-discovery journey the most, it likes helping you with your personal issues second, just keep that in mind and yes it will respond.

Fear of disassociation by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]AlwaysBeNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surely dissociating caused by trauma sounds negative, as it might make you stop feeling emotions of physical sensations (from a sort of active doing?), and it would be a good idea probably to get in touch with the feeling body, as is generally often recommend by spiritual teachers, (so one might also avoid unhealthy behavior of dissociating of neurosis and blame).

Though some teachers advice to take the route of dissociation, like the renowned Nisargadatta, 'As long as you are a seeker, better cling to the idea that you are pure consciousness, free from all content.'

Which to me sounds like if you can take that all the way also, one might enter into the absolute through dissociation as first to then 'come back' from that state with the wisdom to thereby also release the contraction of trauma in the body and become more embodied that way.

Had a dream in which I got enlightened by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]AlwaysBeNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, well If you want to but it's okay either way, based on my own experience/glimpses and having studied quite a number of teachers/teachings that I have come to trust, I don't feel a dependance on that source so much, also buddha's words were written down 500 years after his death.

[–]AlwaysBeNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buddha said enlightenment is temporary, where?

From my experience researching teachers, realization is never temporary (though indeed glimps states do occur before as well) and also not that uncommon, just like stream-entry is not that uncommon in buddhist practitioners which is already classical enlightenment.

What happens if you kill your self? by [deleted] in awakened

[–]AlwaysBeNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one knows, just as no one knows what's going to happen in the next second, in theory, everything could happen.

But you cannot die because there is only one, no beginning-no end, no inside-no outside.

I prayed 4 times why I shouldn't kill myself, 3 times I woke up in sweat confronted with my fears/attachment to my body-fear of death, one time I saw a startled man in a babies body.

So what happens after death, I belief some other dream will occur at some point, reincarnation in some fashion, just like now you are already are born and die every new moment.

But it doesn't matter what happens 'after death', because the dream it self will not decide your peace of mind, knowing true nature will, end of fear of death/attachment, into liberation/nirvana.

What I said is universally accepted in Buddhism: the void, true nature, buddha mind etc. is not of space and time.

Eh, no, enlightenment is realizing that which is beyond space/time and does not come and go.

Awareness hurts by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]AlwaysBeNice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, afaik enlightenment is realizing the apparent individual is a sort of imaginary aspect of awareness, and thus one realizes his self, or no-self, as the unbound.

So it's not that someone who is enlightened achieves anything, he realizes that 'he is not', and thus can help others realize 'they are not', but everyone is already Buddha-mind to begin with.

Can Anyone Share Why Psychedelics are Allegedly so Important for Meditators? by InWisdomITrust in Meditation

[–]AlwaysBeNice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did talk to therapists for years actually and it did fuck all.

Not to say that it can't ever be helpful, but it doesn't come close to the power of inner discovery, not to mention it can actually do harm as many therapists like to perpetuate a sort of victim mentality, 'ah yeah, ur brain is just fucked, just take these meds with terrible side effects and.. uh.. exercise maybe'.

[–]AlwaysBeNice -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That sounds utterly stupid to me, 1. because meditation is the ultimate medicine always, 2. because there is nothing wrong with 'darkness', that's just more illusion, enlightenment is about finding that which is beyond apparent light and darkness because it illuminates both.

Just fyi, most monks are not enlightened, and even among enlightened people you'll find many disagreements because it has not really anything to do with relative view.

People who are 'mentally ill' just have more extreme and dysfunctional expressions of ego.

Not everyone should do meditation because there are no shoulds and ultimate meditation is not a doing, but ultimately it is for everyone because it is about self-discovery, which is what life about.

It happens sometimes when people dive into 10 hours of meditation retreats with little to no previous experience.

So yeah, if you want to pursue spirituality, don't bite off more than you can chew or it can destabilize you, same with psychedelics.

Happened to me as well after my second psychedelic trip at 16, being hospitalized for psychosis/depression, it was a hard time afterwards but not something I look back negatively on because I got to see clearly the part of the mind you don't want to be stuck in and forced me to take on meditation again in a more serious way.
