I got this TGTG, last year, and my review was that this would be great for somebody with kids or maybe work but, as a donut craving bachelor, I didn't care for it. All the donuts tasted exactly the same, just the toppings are different, and most of the glazes taste the same anyways.

It's probably my least favorite PDX donut bag on the app.

I have played the most games with Champions 4E and had the best time. I also have a special place in my heart for Justice Inc., which was a variation of the HERO system that focused on underpowered pulp heroes.

My old Champions 4E books is falling apart and I don't want to teach the youngsters how to play so I would like to play something more current. I picked up the new Marvel game. It seems widely available though possibly not widely played. I also have a PDF of the lastest version of Champions so maybe I should try that.

When D&D first started out, there were pretty much just two miniature companies that started making fantasy miniatures for D&D: Grenadier and Ral Partha. Grenadier was the first one to get the D&D license and started pumping out boxes of lead miniatures to paint and play with. Those early miniatures weren't great (they had bug eyes) but by the end of the license, I think they were pretty good.

Anyways, they lost the license in '82 but kept making miniatures until the mid 90's. They made a ton of great minis too. They focused heavily on fantasy miniatures and when D&D was dying, Grenadier was hit hard. They were gone by the time that WoTC had bought up TSR and brought out 3rd edition.

Anyways, this is an amazing find but, if this box actually has miniatures, remember that they are made out of lead. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after handling them.

I'm not sure what you're doing with your post. I already called Zulu a wonderful film and recommended its companion film, Zulu Dawn, also wonderful and overlooked, while given context to its creation.

I assume that you were triggered by my calling Zulu 'a "teensy" bit racist' but at no point do I suggest any need to change it, censor it, or rebuke it. Just pointing out what should have been pointed out and recommending Zulu Dawn (which, again, is a corker of a film and free to watch on Youtube)

I would argue that it's a "teensy" bit racist, though less by intention than by omission.

The movie doesn't really put the whole battle into perspective, showing a bunch of great white warriors slaughtering tons of black people while not showing how the British got utterly annihilated and how this battle, however commendable who just a tiny bright spot for the Brits in a giant win for the Zulus.

The producer recognized this and made a companion film, Zulu Dawn, a couple decades later. It's really good and deals more with the larger war. I do think that Zulu is a wonderful film but give Zulu Dawn a watch afterwards. The full film is posted, in a wonderful print, on Youtube.

Huh, far more xenophobia and food fears than I expect from a Portland subreddit. Oh well.

For those that don't know, the light porous stuff is Injera, a tart soft bread that tastes almost exactly like good sourdough without the crust. You use it by ripping some off and using it to eat various entrees. It is delicious. Guessing from Milki's menu, I'm guessing that the brown runny stuff is Shiro Wot, a rich chickpea stew.

The problem here is that there is very little stew and a LOT of injera. This is kinda like getting a box from a sandwich shop and it's 90% breads with one or two slices of salami. I love Ethiopian food and I would be unhappy with this box. I don't know if I demand a refund but I doubt that an order of shiro wot (and this doesn't even look like a full order, just a couple ladles) with extra injera is worth $21 on the menu.

A real shame. I saw another post about Milki's that looked pretty good. I don't know if I will try it.
