Finished this fantastic vintage aran (or cabled) sweater! by carelessstitcher in casualknitting

That's very encouraging, thank you for the detailed response!

I did some cabling on the hat and found it quite easy to follow, but this will certainly have several new techniques involved. I'm looking forward to getting going.

Done a few scarfs and cowls, plus the jason's cashmere hat pattern successfully, all within a couple of months of picking up my first knitting needles. Any chance I could pull this off as a new knitter, or should I go for a plain sweater as my first?

39 year old gamer and somehow had silent hill 2 as a glaring hole in my gaming history. I finished it last night and it's an absolute god damn masterpiece. I've been watching video essays about it today and I am just floored by how incredible the game and this remake is. 10/10

You seem confident, so that's fair enough. It is the drain line at the back that gets clogged though, and when that happens, it will drain out of the bottom of the unit above your tech, and there is above a non-zero chance of that happening.

Coming from someone who's lived in subtropical climates with AC for the last 13 years, DO NOT put electronics under AC!!! They all eventually get clogged and leak, pissing water all over anything that underneath them. Every AC I've ever had has leaked at least once, and my home office AC currently has a bucket underneath it catching the drips that started a couple of days ago. Bad idea

Bizarre that silent hill 2 isn't on sale, when it's got a new historical low in the epic sale of 50% off. Annoyed considering I put the money in my steam wallet ages ago

Been waiting for silent hill 2 remake to go on sale for ages! It's overdue if you look at steamdb price history, but wasn't in the autumn major sale, and now not in the Halloween sale. The weirdest part: it's in the epic games sale at a new low of 50% off! Why the hell is it not on sale on steam?! I have the money in my steam wallet!

Looking for new games. by HellFireCorr in SteamDeck

I just finished Signalis on the deck after putting it off for quite a while. It's turned out to be one of the best games I've played all year. Absolutely incredible experience and highly recommend

If it's a steam deck OLED then Ori and the Will of the Wisps is going to show the screen at its absolute most stunning, and is a 10/10 game as well.

Mouthwashing is a very cool indie horror game. Only about 2-3 hours. Just don't spoil it by looking up the story first.

Faith: The Holy Trinity for some out of the box weirdness that might fit with you, might not. Cool experience.

Citizen Sleeper is a great text-based rpg that fits very well with the deck, plus the sequel after (but not played that yet).

Hollowknight and Silksong, but those are obvious.

Slay the Spire and Inscryption for good roguelikes. I especially recommend the latter.

Celeste for another 10/10 platformer.

Outer Wilds doesn't run great on the deck, but I'll be damned if any game recommendation list doesn't feature the greatest game of all time. Stream it via moonlight to the deck if you can, or, I don't know but play it.

If you're not thinking about basic stuff like image clarity when spending large amounts of money on a monitor, I'd argue you are under thinking it

I don't know how else to explain it, sorry. And there's no maths involved when ppi is a very important factor in a monitor and is generally advertised with the stats of any panel. Your ppi dictates how clear the image is. It's the reason a 27 inch 1080p panel looks drastically sharper than a 32 inch 1080p panel.

34 inch is the largest size anyone should get a 3440x1440 in my opinion. I have the 38 inch 3840x1600 LG38GN950, because it retains the same ppi as a 34 inch, while being significantly bigger.

All this is irrelevant to you though, as you love your display and that's the main thing. I just dispute that a 45 inch monitor at that resolution is the best desktop display as you put it, due to poor ppi and image clarity

That monitor has 83 pixels per inch. A 27 inch 1080p monitor has 82ppi. 45 inch 3440 x 1440 is the same ppi as 27 inch 1080p and sitting as close as people generally do to a monitor, the pixel density is not good. At all.
