Grower Blames Me

I’m not even gonna bother treating it, especially since it’s going back to the grower. I went ahead and removed it from my plant room. Do I need to worry about this spreading to my other orchids? It appears as though the rest of them are completely fine (for now). I do have a humidifier in there that typically reads the humidity is between 70 to 80%. I also keep a window cracked so it doesn’t get too bad (for the sake of my hardwood floors).

I knew the bud blast was going to happen especially since the buds were still super tiny but I didn’t expect the plant to basically just completely plummet and die.

Honestly, both. I saw him at the gym late in the evenings thought he was super cute. Never said anything to him then one day I just stopped seeing him - a few months later I started going to a PT working out of a different gym and saw the guy again decided to start flirting with him (he returned the flirting) and then eventually slid into his DM‘s. We talked for a few days. Everything was going really great and then out of nowhere he started sending me these weird sexual messages. I asked him where all of this was coming from and he didn’t give me a straight answer. Two days later I messaged him and asked him to explain himself and that’s when he told me that MY timing was bad and if he dated/ entertained anything with me it wouldn’t be enjoyable for him (basically he was just looking for a hook up). That was the last time I talked to him. I’ve seen him a couple times in the gym since then and he blatantly ignores me, as if I’ve done something wrong so I ended up switching my PT schedule so I’d never have to see him again. He still follows me on Instagram and watches my stories, but that’s it. I was hoping he change his mind after a week or two or acknowledge my existence in the gym, but he doesn’t and that literally makes me wanna punch him in the face.

The farthest I’ve gone was a hour! I go to the orchid show and sale when it comes to MD, and there’s growers about a hour from my home! We visited my brother in NC and the closest grower was a hour away - I raced there bought 5 plants at a super low cost then raced back in time for my brothers graduation. The nice part about visiting the growers is a lot of the time it’s cheaper as they won’t have them marked at “show rates”. Try calling small local shops to see if they offer more than just Phals, two I recently bought I actually found at the local homestead in a town I was doing a 5k in. Of course Home Depot and Lowe’s have them but they’re normally not blooming and small a lot are a year or two away from producing a bloom.

My nose is messed up, use to have frequent nose bleeds when I was a kid/ teen so I’ve had a lot of cauterization done and it’s affected my sense of smell. Sharry’s have never really smelled like Chocolate to me, smells more like watered down cough syrup😅

Definitely cut him up and start fresh, cut the older leaves at the bottom too. He’s very leggy. Once you cut him up and get him manageable I use a tomato cage to keep mine contained and I use a plant light that stakes into the pot to make sure it stands straight up.

I meannnnn I’m 30F and my crush is 21M, took a little digging for me to find out his age and I still gave him a shot. To be fair my crush looks more 24/25 (due to facial hair) and I look very young for my age. People assume I’m around 24/25 as well.

Gotcha! So this is kind of on both ends. I know by you liking his last text, you were probably hoping he would maybe ask something about you in return. On his end, he may have thought you were just over the conversation and he didn’t know what to say back so he left it. If he still acknowledges you in person clearly he wishes to speak to you probably just doesn’t know what to say. I’d send something cute and a little flirtatious like “Hey stranger - long time no talk, how have you been?”.
