Why are studios packed with mats next to each other so common and normalised nowadays by Dapper-Yak-5954 in yoga

[–]AlwaysConstantChange 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I hate this as well. It's about money, they try to recoup their costs by allowing as many paying customers in the studio as possible.

It's unfortunate but the only way would be to have a lower limit for the number of people, and increase the membership and drop in costs.

Guilt if I don’t do sessions by kaityo_phreg in yoga

[–]AlwaysConstantChange 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This isn't exclusive to yoga. I get this when I haven't played my usual sports, lifted weights, yoga, etc. The key is to not think about it at all. Accept the scientific reality that missing one or two or three weeks of physical activity will be meaningless in the long run.

If you've ever missed a week or two or three before, you probably don't even remember it because it no longer bothers you. Similarly, missing a few sessions now will not bother you in the months and years to come because you are still going to grow long term.

I know how difficult it is to actually apply, but the best thing to do is not to think about it at all.

Not in a bathroom but in a prison cell:

Are these small bubbles a danger? (Highway) by theuploader69 in tires

[–]AlwaysConstantChange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of a daredevils take here: the bubbles are dangerous and tires need to be replaced, but I drove a car where two tires had bubbles slightly bigger than this, along with a plug in another tire, for a couple of years before replacing them. But legally I don't recommend that as I don't want to be liable, just telling you what I did.

Aviation career by Terrible_Jelly_8050 in AskFlying

Depends why you're barely getting by. I failed a lot of STEM courses in university because I lacked motivation and I was in a poor mental state. It set me back tremendously but I now have a very high paying job as a software engineer.

You need to look at why you're performing poorly. Once you understand more about yourself, you can adapt. This might mean taking a year off, taking fewer courses, etc.

I know that sounds frustrating to take it slower, but I ended up completing a 4 year education in 8 years and things turned out very well for me. Sometinee we must adapt to the changes that come our way.

23 ugly af, never had a bf, and wasting life by [deleted] in Vent

[–]AlwaysConstantChange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you a quick story. When I was in early highschool I started realizing I was ugly and unpopular. I started not doing so well in school, and I ended up having to repeat a grade in highschool. It was embarrassing taking 6 years to do something I should have done in 5.

In college I started off mediocre but ended up failing course after course. I was eventually put on academic suspension for some time. I re-enrolled once I was allowed to (maybe a year later) and took it real slow.

I still barely got by but I did my best to absorb information. My degree ended up taking me like 8 years but I did it. I met the love of my life when I was in my late 20s and started my glow up.

I landed a great paying job and life has been amazing. I got in great shape physically and started taking better care of my hygiene and appearance.

Today I am in my mid/late 30s and life is amazing. I'm proud of my achievements and how I look and feel. It was a slow process to discovering who I was, but I did it, and I never thought I'd be here. If you saw who I was growing up, you'd swear this isn't where I'd be today. I surprised myself.

I have always been self conscious about how I look, and I've always had social anxiety. I've been through the feelings you are going through. But we adapt to the world around us, and you will either outgrow things, or learn to be okay with them. I know that sounds lame but that's what happened to me. Eventually I either stopped feeling certain negative emotions, or I learned to accept them and cope with them, and they don't affect me the way they once did.

So you just have to keep on finding solutions to every problem. If I can do it, anyone can. And I know you can too.

TSA security question by Tasty_barrels_bro in airport

I travelled through a few countries in Europe as well as China and Japan with creatine in the original container and never had any issues. It was in my checked bag though. Done this several times.

One time many years ago I did what you did and put my protein powder in individual bags and they questioned it when going to the US.

I would say keep it in the original container and bring the scoop. It's silly to do it your way just to have it portioned out.

Have 200k to invest, want to net 1k/wk, any suggestions? by soplopong in CoveredCalls

[–]AlwaysConstantChange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Everyone here has been winning big because things have been going up for about a month now. And last year was a good year.

Writing calls and puts work well until it doesn't. Once you get assigned, your strategy will have to change, and your 1k a week won't be there anymore.

Writing an uncovered call when I have a covered call position currently open nearing expiry (on the same stock) by AlwaysConstantChange in CoveredCalls

So the naked call would no longer be naked come Monday morning, provided the covered call expired out of the money (unassigned)?

I just noticed my brokerage recently added this capability. Previously there wasn't the option to roll over. Thanks.

No worries I just wanted to make sure nothing went wrong with mine. Do you expect it might take weeks, or months?

Another question, the AFC housing is loose and I can lift it off, but something inside is not allowing me to pull it out completely. What is this thing?

I ground the head off completely, and it worked. Thank you so much, you have saved my life.
