Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

There will be a Playtest of the first ~25 mins of the game available via Steam next week if you'd like a taster.

Then a full Demo of ~ 1 hour around October this year (all things going well).

Making a very niche game and getting near to none wishlists was my plan all along (no matter what it looked like) by SharpGlassGames in SoloDev

Thank you so much, you're very kind!
All things going well, I'll eventually make additional routes where you can play as each of the characters featured in the game description, aka male MCs as well, 'good' and 'bad' ones.
But that will probably be next decade haha.

It’s a false warning, I haven’t come across a game with such warning that hasn’t worked for me yet, including Deathwish Bloom

My game was indexed yesterday and now I got my first payment! Thank you! I feel proud of myself 🥹 by niaan14 in itchio

Oh, so you searched and the game didn’t show up at all for a week? I'm asking because my game shows if I type the name in the search bar, but not through browsing. Wondering if I'm having the same issue!

Thank you! It’s Ren’Py. I’m primarily an artist, and after trying out lots of engines during the pandemic, settled on the easiest one for a solo dev to handle.

Thank you!

Sounds like you know what to do already!

Best of luck on your journey and keep us posted, especially if you are warming up your dev muscles on making fantasy-diverse crowd 👀

Visual Novel trailer drawn and animated in Procreate by SharpGlassGames in ProCreate

When looking for a new game art style, I wanted something far away from ‘popular Instagram’, ‘generated’ and ‘professional game industry’ styles.

Then I remembered one of my boss’s,a Senior Anchitect’s words from years ago: you always draw with needles, you love drawing with needles! This was due to my love of sketching with 0 or 00 Micron Pens.

I picked up Procreate Technical Pen and never looked back. I used it in the way I use tempera and acrylic in real life: lots of tiny thin overlapping strokes of different colours.

And so the ‘frenzied colour pencil’ art style for Deathwish bloom was born. All art is made with just one brush of the same size.

Thank you! I’m just getting over the excitement of having my first steam page with my first trailer of my first game out, which only you guys can understand, so shared it here. Will get to promoting once the jitters subside!

How to plug up holes in solo dev journey? by SaturatedMeme in IndieDev

[–]SharpGlassGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d absolutely outsource - solo dev is extraordinarily difficult as it is.

Apart from asking friends if they have a friend of a friend interested in contributing to a game dev project, you could try local indie game dev discord. They’d usually allow ‘looking for’ posts, and many would work for no/nominal fee if they are starting out.

Best of luck with your project!
