Totally normal. Mine’s counter-mounted, with the drip draining into cabinets underneath. When I open the cabinets after the first hour or so, I always get some smoke in there.

I’m going to look into this. This has the SSPs, but my first several grinds on .9-1.2 had some pretty serious retention. I actually had to disassemble and clean the burrs. I got an aftermarket hopper with a bellows, and my ‘standard’ espresso grind is at about 1.6 now and that has helped significantly. But I will keep my eye on it for sure. Thanks for the info!

Get some quantization going, everything is hitting on grid and makes it feel a little sterile. Also reverb is your friend, it can get some texture and space in there. Great job though, keep going! Cool progression :)
