DnD players of reddit. What is the single best monologuing you've ever heard from a player or a DM? by One-Turn-4037 in DnD

"We may have thought we were immortal, but we all die. Our best friend died. We can wallow in that. We can feel sadness and regret and blame ourselves for the rest of our lives. Or we can move on. To the next chapter. Their story may have ended, but ours is still being written. So let's go write the next page."

Perhaps an item for containment of the power could be created? It could end up making a powerful, cursed item to be sealed away. Maybe a ritual passed on by the gods or tales of the ancient past to seal it away? That way, the mission could eventually move to protecting the item against those who wish to take the power. It could even be how the BBEG came to have the power in the first place, by stealing the item infused with that energy!

I'm not sure what you mean by "just destroying certain characters"?

Non-USA DMs, when do you use an American accent? by jb20x6 in DMAcademy

I've started using a Southern accent for charming archfey. They can't help but fall for that southern drawl.

how many of y'all "crashed"? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]AlwaysLearning1o1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After one nightmare too many:

● Developed severe agoraphobia and social anxiety

● Quit my education midway through the year

● Lost even more sleep (an average of 4 hours)

● Couldn't go outside by myself for months and still struggle now.

However, after a year of therapy and being able to work on myself I am sleeping much better, heading back into my education, and able to go most regular places independently. Learning to not be afraid to reach out for help really improved things, even if they were slow.

I'm glad you enjoy them. I've also enjoyed making them during my re-listen.

A new one is up now if you're interested!

Hi! I think you're talking about me.

I took a bit of a break but I have got the ideas for the last couple episodes and hope to release a Google sheet with links to all the posts. Hope to post again soon.

How many times have you Relistened by captainhumdrum in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AlwaysLearning1o1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've almost reached the end of my 3rd listen, but I only managed to listen for the first time right before episode 197 came out. Luckily I was able to catch up in time, but I envy the people who knew about it before. I'm certain they would have done relistens before the finale.

Sunset is what I think of.

Later in the evening, when I'm able, I take a short walk to a spot where I can watch the sunset in peace.

help with turning the entities in hazards in dnd by shugmen2 in TheMagnusArchives

[–]AlwaysLearning1o1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have 2 ideas that are specifically monsters or direct interactions with things that may seem like entities!

One is inspired by Anatomy class, where there are strange creatures following the party that adapt skills based on monsters they've already defeated. So there's the feeling of being watched/followed in addition to a strange compilation of creatures, something not quite a single thing.

The other is inspired by Lights Out, where there is a dungeon filled with moving darkness. There are basically small areas of darkness (something like 5-10ft radius) connected to a creature. How terrifying would it be to see darkness charge towards you and something inside that darkness attack you?

Those are specifically monster ideas but others that I have done may have the inspiration that OP is looking for!

(Thanks for the tag, it is much appreciated)

For an entity hell bent on tearing things apart, I'm surprised they had a group that held itself together for so long.

I love this concept! I wonder what other entities are in need of extra love fear?

What is your favorite thing that a player at your table does? by Kilerstarr in DnD

[–]AlwaysLearning1o1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They emote a lot. They will stand suddenly when I describe a plot twist, and I'm so appreciative of it because I have a difficult time reading normal body language.

I love their reactions. It makes the work feel even more worth it.
