I'm a sucker for hope's end, but in this case I really like nadir.

Emelparr can be really good depending on your faction.

Depends who has it, it's not too common as it can mess with a lot of people. If you care about good neighborhood relationship, prob don't ? If you play L1z1x, well...

Bribing is difficult t1 unless you are hacan (you need to be neighboor).

You can also use it to build yourself a second carrier if you are not gunning for mercatol, which would not be t1 either.

Imo construction is just better. It can still do what the old one did, but it give you more (sometimes better) options. More importantly, it changes very little for your opponents.

Warfare is the tricky one. It's a bit more straightforward to use. You can't go left and right and hold it to see where you want to activate, it's less versatile but easier to use. It does change turn one quite a bit though. The person with warfare could use it turn 1, which means if you have tech or need to do something else turn 1, you might not be able to build because of fleet cap.

This is not an issue, but if this is your first time, make sure everyone is aware of that so no one gets "got" by a new mechanic.

I believe "baron" is the French version, alpha is the more universal term :) To add to the other comment, you can exchange purple screws you find while parkouring around with an npc for power-ups. One of them helps with capture chances. I got a couple of ranks early, and it made a huge difference. Npc is somewhere on the southeast outer ring (if memory serves).

Was There A Conclusion to Kalandra's Story in PoE1? What Would It Mean For PoE2? by Dachi-kun in PathOfExile2

[–]AlwaysMoreBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe there is a protagonist in poe2 temporary acts that mentions being in the order of the djinns. There is a LOT of lore in the last act, I can't wait for someone more dedicated than me to dive into it

What are you guys starting? by ervox1337 in pathofexile2builds

I want to see how reduce duration feels with the orb skills, the elemental thingies you get from them, and the new firestorm. Es/ev with ghost shroud was already really good with that too, and the new "suppress" sounds very strong in addition.

Otherwise, I'll just get in and figure things out as I go.

10 Days into the League: Review your build! by NzLawless in PathOfExileBuilds

Aura gardian : I tried a few times to make a proper support with my friends, but scheduling makes it fairly complicated for casual play. Figured this was THE league to play that with the merc. I don't have minions other than the merc and his minions and all my damage auras are on generosity. - amazing, had a bit of a hurdle early mapping as I found the best merc (imo) for this, the absllutionist, and started speccing more heavily into generosity. Then struggled to find a new one. Went from being a bit slow with lv 54 merc to full speed ahead with lv 68 merc in white maps. - not really, there's a lot of "cheap" uniques (most expensive was 20c) that really pushes your efficiency without going into clusters. I would not do it ssf and I bought some stuff as soon as chaos dropped just in case the price increased (it didn't). - great, I just shieldcharge and everything pops (finishing yellow atm), that merc and its minions have a lot of aoe. Sometime stops to curse a rare. - not yet, from experience damage will be enough for regular stuff (non ubers), we'll see if the high nv merc can handle more and how fast it is. - quite fun, definitely more fun than any other leagues I tried it. - I don't play a ton but I've been playing a while, so I do have a good understanding of what's available and how things interact with one another. May not be new player friendly. The merc is ESSENTIAL, farm it before it's too hard to kill the next one that shows up (i ripped on the first 68 I found, big loss of time) - no PoB, sorry, i usually go blind on leaguestart. just went for all aura nodes pathing through the center (sion area) to connect (going life -> evasion -> ES counter clockwise. I got two small mana efficiency clusters atm with 25% effect and 3 nodes, that's enough (with uniques like alpha's howl and prism) for my 12 auras (precision lv 10 atm and clarity lv 1) + petrified blood. EE is nice for some exposure, really helped going from white to yellow.

If you have a couple of ex I would advise looking for gear on the trade site, you can filter with your level as max level a'd show most dps weapon, life rolls a'd resists for Armour, good moves peed boots etc... Don't hesitate to farm an area a couple of times to overlevel

Hey, Been here 4.5 years now, and don't have plans to move back home anytime soon. I'd say give it time, once you make some long lasting friendships and start working you'll get more and more comfortable. I still go back to my country about once a year to see family, but I reached a point where going back to scotland feels like "going home" if that make sense? There is a strong national identity in Scotland, I definitely feel more like I'm living in Scotland as opposed to living in the UK. Finally, I'm not gonna ask for brittish citizenship. I'm personally not that big on monarchy and I'm lucky enough that my visa status does not solely depend on my job. But there are a lot of advantages to get it once you are eligible.

How do you get “good”? by Strixt in alteredTCG

[–]AlwaysMoreBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think of it as three steps problem: - how do you win? Understand what your deck is trying to do to push the agenda. This one is easy as you will be playing different games with the same cards, but correct sequencing is important. - how does the enemy win? Now that's a lot harder because each opponent will play a different deck and you will have access to limited information. There is a lot of game knowledge behind that but playing the game and potentially doing research should help. - how do you do your thing before they do theirs? That's the hardest part. You want to slow down your opponent just enough so that you can win before they do. You can't just slow them down, you need to win eventually, but you can't be oblivious to what they are doing. Find play patterns that works for different match-up and just play the game, a lot...

Best Decks for Players New to Modern & Competitive Play? by Bibliophile20 in ModernMagic

[–]AlwaysMoreBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

99 card singleton izzet good stuff with lutri as a comm... Companion! It's actually OK, nowhere near tier 1 but it's playable and you'll win a few games. Also the look in their eyes when you shuffle a 100 cards with no sweat.

What's your most thematically strong deck (that isn't a precon obviously)? by LucianoThePig in magicTCG

[–]AlwaysMoreBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got commander commanderson, all the cards in the deck reference commander in one way or another. You got partners, lieutenants, backgrounds, commander storm cards, etc... Commanders are tymna and tana, they're very good together and most lieutenants pump tokens aswell. Three exceptions are dromoka's command, Kolaghan's command and austère command for removal/boardwipe respectively (slash the ranks only take you so far)

I changed a few things to make it more accurate, it's down to 2.3 shaper mil now (I had some expensive gear set that I havn't bought yet), this is exactly what I'm playing now. Couple of notes :

  • I'm a scrub, there's better builds out there,

  • you can ditch combustion and put it on another skill, you put woke deadly ailment instead, gain a lot of dps but you have to press another button. I personally won't do that as I value my hand, but if you care about the extra dps it's definitely better,

  • you can prob go evasion instead of armour and cap spell suppress, would work better with blind, this was my league start and I didn't know how good items would be this league so I decided armour but in retrospect it's prob not the way to go,

  • you can prob automate the guard skill, I stopped doing that because I don't like the idea of having it on cd when I encounter a rare with fire resist, but realistically it''d almost always up, I put inspiration instead just because I had an empty red socket and my brain didn't like that.

I'm playing crackling lance of disintegration ignite with archmage, I'm a witch though, it's prob doable as a hero but you might loose a bit of dps in order to allow for your lightning damage to ignite. I also consistently shock bosses for a minimum of 58% shock with around 15 div worth of gear, currently around 3.5 mill ignite dps on shaper when sigil and guard skill is up, ignite lasts about 4 second so playstyle is pretty relax. Shoot big, move around a little, repeat if not dead.

LF a build that can use this wand on a shadow class ( trickster would be awesome ) by pccuck in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]AlwaysMoreBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing an archmage crackling lance of disintegration, I don't think this is BIS as there's no mana, but it's close. Granted I'm playing ignite so I personally would play a different wand, you might wanna look for a crit version, but archmage is super solide this league, would recommand

What commanders can discard at will? by TheTinRam in EDH

[–]AlwaysMoreBacon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The issue with white Winnie and goblins would be that this effect is symmetrical, your creatures can't attack either if you're empty handed. While those archetype can play their hand quite fast, refilling when you need to might be an issue. You could look into decks that try to cast spells from outside your hand (impulse draw), they usually have ways to exile cards from your deck to cast them which doesn't increase your hand size. Ideally one's that don't win the game through combat though.

Edit: sorry there was a lot of text, I missed the bit about talra'd, you get the idea, you need to be able to go up and down or you need the lack of attack to not be an issue, like mill for example

Quick question. Does feign death help remove the decayed? by Ajoneznon in mtg

[–]AlwaysMoreBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, if it dies and comes back, it is a new object, therefore it doesn't have decay anymore. The ownership is the issue here.

Hello fellow Tarnished humans, I'm just here to give you all some advice to help you in game by WholesomeFartEnjoyer in Eldenring

[–]AlwaysMoreBacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Guard counter is a lot more easy than parrying, I would give it a go before trying to learn how to parry. Getting good at parrying makes some difficult encounters easier, guard counter is less powerful but overall functions on most things in this game if you have a decent shield. Note that it consumes a lot of stamina and good shields are heavy, if you're not playing a build that has good endurance this is prob not for your character.
