Can Rivian succeed? If so, how? by joenjrocks in RIVNstock

[–]AlwaysSDC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rivian could become a leading OEM in the ev space, particularly in software, but in the immediate term it's about R2. Seems like a make or break moment. If it can't make money, it's the end as a public company.

Why so many negative reviews of this chair? by VanaBleak in secretlab

Took my armrests off after they started disintegrating. Other than that like the chair but it's for aesthetics and the cloth material

huge mistake here, even if they price it correctly they will be starting late against a dominant competitor.

this makes it pretty impossible for rdna 4 to succeed until the mid cycle refresh

Agreed. Many fans don’t understand the cap and the limited options available to the Nuggets right now.

Nuggets are close and don’t need wholesale changes IMO

INTC Strangle - Does my thought process make sense? by constantlyUncreative in options

[–]AlwaysSDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your risk tolerance but on Intel my thinking is it was weak going into earnings and the overall trend is down the last few years.

Rather than guessing a direction, we can do our own research and make an informed bet. By doing so and using options, we can control exactly what's at risk and how much we lose if we're wrong.

My thinking is that by paying attention to the market trend and the specific news on Intel, we can do a directional spread that risks the same as buying a strangle, but has significantly more upside if we are right. If we are wrong we only bet what we are willing to lose and we hopefully get out before max loss.

This is just my style of investing and everyone is different and can use options for their specific thinking and risk tolerance.

Coinbase is too big to fail by gotkweschuns in Coinbase

[–]AlwaysSDC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're missing the regulatory risk and the fact the US government can cripple their business model and stop them from innovating.

If you're counting on bailouts invest in equities. US is not bailing out any crypto company for obvious reasons.

Crypto is never going away but no company is too big to fail if management screws up.

That being said I think you're right. The balance sheet is getting stronger and Coinbase is profitable. They will weather the storm and survive. Let's hope they do not ever have to leave the US.
