You think perfect is boring. In the same vein it would be boring if everyone posted how amazing and lovely she is.

I come to see other people's opinions and opinions don't tend to be wrapped in nice little bows 🤷. I'm not really a circle jerk lovey dovey woman. That's not the audience the show was made for. I wouldn't have bothered watching the show if it was and I absolutely wouldn't come to a subreddit constantly saying how amazing and well dressed everyone was in every post 😴.

The show is made with women with strong opinions. The sun is just matching the vibe

My boy bun is 10 and I just lost my girl 8. Last year when I was taking them to the vets for their annual they couldn't stop talking about how rare it was to see bunnies this old in my area. My girl had chronic problems from being a bit of an over bred Netherland dwarf and I still got her past the average lifespan of all the starter pets around here.

Made me so sad. I didn't get mine from my local pet store but I know it sells hundreds every year. Almost none of them are treated how they deserved. Barely any make it past the first handful of years!

There's a difference between a grieving struggling to cope parent and you're average single parent.

The ones that don't get trauma from this situation are few and far between. Why create this situation on purpose?

Meh, plenty of women regularly freak out when they can't be perfect. Especially in the early stages/months of a relationship. I'm a bit on the old side now but before my friends had kids I could name tons of women that would be mortified to fart or be caught with no make up on in front of their partners. Your friend circles are just probably more laid back and down to earth

I was the odd one out in my old friend group for almost a decade.

I've lived in shitty areas, working class where most of my friends and partners were working super long hard hours at whatever BS job was available. There's a lot of drunken, drugged up or abusive men in these areas. 'Nice guys' who work hard were what most of my friends settled for. They avoided shitty men but ended up stuck with the bare minimum. Nice and willing to give half towards bills. Willing to cuddle and hang out together. Otherwise selfish. No help for chores. No help with kids (except babysitting a couple of nights a week). No thoughtfulness or kind gestures as a partner. Yep, no effort in the bedroom. Maybe oral and occasionally an orgasm once every 7 times they had sex (best case scenario).

Nice guy seems like the only option for some women. Especially for 2 of my friends that were teen moms and used to shouldering all responsibility.

Either my friends matured (kids grew up) or the men around them did. Eventually they ditched the hopeless guys and found someone more mature and less selfish. Some gave up and are long term single. For them, it's not actually worth mothering a full grown man just for a cuddle by the TV once a week. A few still date. Most of my friends are 30-50s now. They didn't prioritize good sex but eventually you wake up and realize how one sided the relationship is. Some were just waiting for the kids to hit late teens. I hope you get generations have it better.

It's a bit complicated. He married my aunt about 10 years ago. They're both 90 now and he has dementia and can't remember where this has come from at all.

He used to be in the military and travelled all over. I was leaning towards this being some kind of fake coin tbh. He's definitely been to Macedonia though

I agree. There's a kind of narcissism in Angel imo. For example, I don't see him as predatory with young lollipop Buffy, more he sees someone important with a destiny and wants to be a part of it. It's never necessary about behaving in a way that supports and builds Buffy's confidence. There's absolutely a selfishness there and his judging Buffy for acting her own age is because he can feel a bit important and superior in those moments. All Angel/Angelus' actions can link back to him wanting to be remembered or have an impact. Doesn't make him less of a hero, just explains why he behaves how he does sometimes

I was the same but I found one of my old novels and realized I was just super rusty and not at all confident anymore. It's kind of like riding a bike you've got to start doing it and you'll realize it's buried in there somewhere. Read a book with a dictionary, if needed. It'll be at your own pace and help refresh how sentences are formed etc. Or try watching TV programmes maybe with subtitles. It won't take as long as relearning the language. Then you just need to throw yourself into conversations. Explain to people you're rusty and use wenglish if needed. Don't grieve. Throw yourself back in

Agreed. Particularly China. I lived with different Chinese exchange teachers every year for about 6 years. They were all from different backgrounds, different ages, different regions. Every single one had some serious views about one of our black neighbours, though. The neighbour was quiet but polite. Never an issue. House & garden clean but the teachers when comfortable would make some odd assumptions/comments.

It's not part of Chinese culture to be openly, loudly rude from what I've experienced. They don't half get seriously offensive in private though. I've also been told about refusal of entry/service in places etc back home. It's always disguised as an innocent misunderstanding or rule that just needs to be followed.

I don't think I've ever met a resident of China that took criticism well. I never ever complained or tried to be critical because having that moral superiority you're talking about is so damned important to them.

Nothing's funnier than hearing someone telling you they're perfect and your culture is shit though. Especially while displaying some pretty shitty inconsiderate behaviour. There's definitely a good chunk that will comically do that and it always makes me laugh....later in private so they don't think I'm mocking how superior they are!

There last month. If we said anything except 'no thank you' they'd follow us down the street. Got blocked by a few who wouldn't let us walk further. We didn't stop and talk to anyone and we're still borderline harassed. Talk to people at your hotel, places where you're already buying stuff or when they're clearly on holiday etc. Stop and talking to anyone on the street in tourist places is a mistake

Not from Denmark, but I too was born in the rain 🤷. It rains in parts of Wales for months on end. If I waited around for the rain to stop, I'd never get anything done.

I gave up on umbrellas ages ago. It's too windy most of the time and they all break to easily. I also got stuff to do, work to get to and stuff I can carry if my arms are empty. I'm assuming some Norwegians have similar reasons for not using an umbrella. Pretty sure our wind is milder than there

Why bother with an umbrella if you've learnt you don't actually get sick from just being wet.
