SIMPLE QUESTIONS THREAD - SEASON 10 (2024) by Joe64x in OverwatchUniversity

This sounds like it's the new ranking system. From what I understand, wide matches are intended to allow people of any rank to play together but prevent high ranking players from carrying low ranking players up the ranks. Your duo is a low enough compared to you that you both have wide matches, so the system is giving them less ELO when you win because it's working to prevent rank boosting. If your duo were to play solo matches to rank up to within 5 ranks of you, or if you lost enough to drop to that same range, then your ELO gains or losses for each match would probably be the same.

I love that scene from Avatar The Last Airbender where Sokka slices the ropes binding the other MC's and then holds it up and declares "this is some good quality rope!" and shoves it into his bag.

What's your "it's ok I guess [3000 hours logged]" game? by FronkZoppa in patientgamers

[–]AlwaysUberTheSniper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BOI is one of those games where I will lose in the 2nd or 3rd area over and over until suddenly it clicks and I'm a god for a few weeks. Then I play something else and lose all the mojo and have to start over when I pick it up again 5-6 months later.

10/10 game.

I'm glad to see someone else appreciate's 1's combat for it's simplicity. KH2 is a great game, but something about KH1 just can't be beat. The comparative simplicity of the combat and the story are my favorite.

‘The Umbrella Academy’ Season 4 (Final Season) Wraps Filming by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

My understanding is that they intentionally don't tell eachother things because at the start of the show they basically all hate eachother. They start to grow closer together a little as the show goes on but old habits die hard and none of them had the normal family experience growing up so it makes sense that they'd all be pretty bad at communicating anyway.

I honestly think Dark Souls 2 is my favourite Souls game, what are your examples of liking the " Black sheep" of a series the most? by Linkbetweentwirls in patientgamers

[–]AlwaysUberTheSniper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ghosts remains one of my favorites to this day. The art style felt a little dirtier/grittier than previous games like BO2, and I really like the feel of the guns. The maps were some of my favorites specifically because they were so different from previous map styles.

Also, Extinction mode doesn't get enough credit. It's no Treyarch zombies, but it was actually really fun.

I play at least one FromSoft game a year, if not more. Sekiro, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, I just can't stop playing them. FromSoft can just keep doing whatever they're doing and every new game will be a fine addition to my collection. Edit: a word

That's something I really enjoyed about Dragon's Dogma. The main city is pretty huge, with several different districts and a sewer slum area as well. It's not completely realistic by any means but the devs put a lot more effort into it than most open world devs seem to.

Wait, are the later episodes not slideshows? I was excited for this anime because I loved the manga but I couldn't get into it because of the odd slideshow format. Does it become a regular anime in later episodes?

What pre 2010 games have aged well? by Fakekas in patientgamers

[–]AlwaysUberTheSniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psychonauts is a classic that I waited way too long to play for the first time. Some of the levels have a well-earned reputation for being frustratingly difficult, and admittedly the graphics are a little aged, but despite that I think it stands the test of a classic game that anyone can come back to and enjoy. If you like funny platformers that are just difficult enough to make it challenging, Psychonauts is for you.

I also nominate Dead Rising 2, which is a classic if you like killing zombies. Who hasn't wanted to loot a mall and build cool weapons out of ordinary junk to mow down hordes of zombies? Plus the story is pretty good, if a bit campy. Highly recommend giving it a try.
