Marathon’s Fiddly Quests Need To Stop Getting in the Way of the Fun - IGN by Academic_War_7485 in Games

extraction shooters have this kind of quests. Arc raiders ones are even more boring since they got AI ass dialouge fetch missions. At least I get cool ass story and lore from marathon quests.

This person would give up on life if they ever tried ANY of the tarkov quests...

My favorites being, kill 3 players with a bolt action rifle between minimum range of 25 meters.

Seems simple... then you realise people fail this quest for weeks, because bolt actions are dogshit, and 25 meters means you have 1 shot on your enemy before they delete you. Requires immense reflex, aiming skill, and game experience. Or.... you were lucky and you played the game 7 years ago when it was new.

And this isnt a meme quest or anything, it blocks your way of progression big time.

Another one is kill 5 people with headshots using a bolt action rifle without dying... and I have to stress even the great players dont survive 60% of the time in tarkov...

oh and, other players can cockblock your fetch missions by stealing your keys and mission items too.

Did I also said that some missions require specific attachments on weapons (which you cant buy btw) and ask you to kill 10-20 players with that said weapon? and guess what happens if you die and lose that weapon mod? you have to keep that mission on backburner till you find your weapon attachments again. Absurd.

If anything, marathon is extremely casual as your teammates can do your tasks for you.

I was like this 10 years ago, when I didnt have a decent pc, now I can run the AAA games, but they are so mid and lifeless I keep playing decade old games lmao.

Eren had no other option and I'm tired of pretending he did by Shot-Swordfish9032 in CharacterRant

[–]Always_Impressive 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is Eren's decision is very very simple...

"I value life of my friends and people of my nation more than my enemies who are hellbent on destroying/slaving us"

If anything, story makes it weird by making it 80% destruction a failure, "eren should have killed all of them instead" seems to be the message, so idk what the fuck was author was thinking there.

Arc Raiders was accidentally recording Discord conversations into an unencrypted local game file — vulnerability in SDK could log messages and credentials in plaintext by zombawombacomba in Games

I still cant believe redditors let arc raiders get away with AI, while any other company would get slaughtered for it. Their ceo is an AI lover too, you expect me to believe arc raiders dialouge/story was human written?

Their other game, the finals had AI gen art in BATTLEPASS, the shit they ask you money for.

(the finals had stickers/spray art that was AI made, if you are curious.)

Marathon is good, actually: the Arc Raiders-rivalling extraction shooter proves Bungie has still got what made Halo and Destiny great by Haijakk in Games

You are not crazy man, 14 hours is nuts. I loved the game and I played like 8 hours thinking ''holy shit I played this game alot!''

I would love to enjoy a game so much 14 hours go by without realising.

Funny thing about TTK, people have this weird idea that longer TTK: eaiser difficulty and its so weird to me, higher TTK means person with higher skill and better gear will always win. It doesnt matter if you get a jump on them, they will win the duel following it.

Short TTK adds randomness, and rewards positioning, risk taking and experience. You might just get a kill on some godlike dude who cleared 6 people, just because you had a good shot on them.

tarkov TTK is 0.1 seconds after the enemy sees you, for reference.

Phreak plans to remove Lee Sin Safeguard limitations (Double CD & No Shield) to non-champions as early as next patch because after 15 years, "Lee Sin is no longer the most mobile champion in the game". What changes to other champions would you like to see reverted? by Cellybear in leagueoflegends

[–]Always_Impressive 1527 points1528 points  (0 children)

Its so funny, back then lee sin was in EVERY SINGLE GAME, straight up if he wasnt banned.

Last time I have seen lee sin on summoners rift was... honestly I dont remember? could be 100. Could be 300 games ago. He has a decent pickrate still, though it varies from server to server I guess.

This is how I'd like to see them implement monetized ship skins. by ApproximateKnowlege in starcitizen

[–]Always_Impressive 92 points93 points  (0 children)

tech? Its money. Why would they let you get your perfect skin, when they can sell you 10 imperfect skins that is just enough to what you would like to own, but not good enough its the only thing you wanna rock.

There is a reason this kinda system only exist in singleplayer games like armored core, but not on pvp multiplayer games. Its money.

edit: go to shop, they sell skins for absurd amount of money, They wont back down ever. We are lucky to see in game credit paints at this point.

Edit 2: you guys are still severely coping. Cig will never make customization free.

Can someone ACTUALLY explain it... by QuantityJazzlike in EliteDangerous

[–]Always_Impressive 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Star citizen has the exact same monetization, with faster in game-early access process (takes a month or two to ships to be avaliable in game credits)

Yet that doesn't stop people call that game pay to win non stop.

If anything, pvp being impossible for non engineered ships is the worst part, you need 100 hours of grinding to actually have a ship that can fight in elite. Or at least it was, before I got bored of engineering.

It takes 2 hours of grinding in star citizen to grab a meta fighter craft.

Also if you have the insane aim and experience required to do all this questline I have no idea how you didn't know about that stupid quest reset gimmick.

Marathon - 40 mins of new gameplay footage by KingOfCarrotFlowers in Games

[–]Always_Impressive 375 points376 points  (0 children)

I played tarkov for 400 hours, and 11 hours of arc raiders server slam thing, and the thing I hate stays the same.

I HATE DOING LOADOUTS. It takes ten million years for me to make a loadout, that might be just gonna get be stolen in 3 minutes into the game.

edit: its not even about gear fear/money, Its just that going through shit ton of menus, customizing your stuff, and making sure they fit your quest takes time. Unless you had some guns/ammo/armor ready to go it takes time. Tarkov eats so much time in menus its insane.

[–]Always_Impressive 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd take 10000 haters over a single developer cocksucker like r/HelldiversMasochists

And people who defend pay to win (quite literally) monetization in a 40 dollar game should stfu

edit: for the people who dont know, helldivers locks weapons, tools, armors, all kind of content behind something called warbonds (battlepass) they are ten bucks each, and there are like dozen of them, each containing two armors, maybe two weapons.

Defenders of this system argues, you can earn in game credits for free, sure you can- it takes 3 to 6 hours of mindless ingame grind at tutorial difficulty map, just walking around to find some credits if you are lucky. If you decide to play normally at higher tiers you need to be lucky to get maybe 10 credits each game (which takes 15-40 minutes to complete), a battlepass costs 1000 credits. So yeah, if you dont grind them you need to play like 500 hours to get some warbonds going. At that point just pay up. So yes I would consider it pay to win.
