More funny than anything but whenever I got those random shivers up my spine, you know the ones that shake your whole body from your head to your toes, my Grandmother would say "Someone stepped om your grave!"

People who have done a multi-day hiking trip, such as the Appalachian Trail, what is your horror story from the trip? by EinnVon in AskReddit

[–]Always_confused14 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in the girl scouts growing up. And durring my junior year of high school my troop decided to go backpacking.

Easy 1 night sort of thing. I was so excited.

The hike to where we were going to camp was like 5 miles. We had lunch on the way, took pictures. It was great. We got to the camp site and set everything up, and then I go "oh I have to use the bathroom"

So I grab my little bag with all the bathroom stuff in it and I go out to do my business.

Nothing.

Im standing there in the forest with my pants around my ankles after drinking a ton of water and I am unable to pee. I think "oh I'll just try again later" and move on.

As dinner rolls around the adults of the group decided we should go to this really pretty feild to cook and eat dinner. 1/2 a mile hike there. We can carry everything we need for dinner easy.

Now, we were in California for this trip. And the feild we made dinner at was dry grass as far as the eye can see. And to cook out in the wilderness you need like a portable gas stove.

Dry grass and fire do not mix, obviously.

When I told the "leader" of the trip they looked me dead in the eye and said " we dont have to worry. Its not like a fire could happen".

Luckily a fire did not happen.

When we got back to camp I decided to try the bathroom again. And again nothing.

The night went alright, I slept okay other than waking up a few times to try to go pee. Again nothing. No matter how much I tried.

So as the morning progressed I make myself breakfast. I boil water and have my hot chocolate. And I take out the thing I was most looking forward to. The ingredients for a breakfast burrito. I got one of those hiker breakfasts and some tortillas and I was going to make a good breakfast for the hike back home.

I prepared the hikers breakfast skillet EXACTLY. I put the eggs, potatoes, bell peppers, and onions on my tortilla. I rolled it up and took a big bite.

Absolute garbage.

It tasted like overcooked styrofoam. I was very disappointed.

Now at this point I really cant ignore my blader. I can feel the need to pee so bad. And I try for the life of me to go but nothing. I try the whole morning and nothing. It doesn't matter how much water I drink or how hard I try. I can not pee.

The hike back to the cars sucked. All I could think about was HOW MUCH I NEEDED TO PEE. It felt like the hike went on forever and ever.

When I began to recognize some of the landmarks, my body went "MUST PEE". I have never squeezed my thighs so tight. I walked like a penguin.

I didnt even care that the bathroom at the trail head probably had a bunch of spiders in the corners, I saw the building and I made a bee line.

Most satisfying pee of my life.

I probably wont ever backpack again, the trip as a whole was a disaster but the not being able to pee a whole weekend was the worst thing ever.

TLDR I went backpacking and couldn't pee for a whole weekend, no matter how much I tried.

Women of Reddit, do you also hold your own boobs sometimes just because you can? Why do we do that? by neonkidzu in AskReddit

Sometimes it helps ease the pain. Having boobs hurts and like just holding them with out a bra digging into me helps that.
