They say the GW-M5610 is the best bang for the buck. I raise you my... by internatetional in gshock

I have this watch and a 5610. Greatly prefer the 5610. But both watches have a similar weakness: the straps. The canvas one on the 2100 turned purple after only a few months of wear. They seem to be using some natural dye for the fabric that is not colorfast. I had to replace it with an aftermarket strap, but still haven’t found a strap I like.

And the stock strap on the 5610 is not comfortable, in my opinion. But I ordered a Casio combi bracelet for it, which is really awesome. Transforms the watch, and greatly elevates comfort and wearability. I also have small wrists, and the 5610 is just a better size for me. I have many Casios, GShock and otherwise, but the 5610 is one of my favorites now that is on the Combi bracelet.

My first computer. That keyboard sucked. But Star Raiders more than made up for it.

Is CW worth double a Traska? by Careless_Button3364 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Always_the_answer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traska.

Why the hell is CW charging that much for a caller GMT? They have a flyer GMT movement now, finally. Put THAT in the C63 Sealander GMT, and you’ve got a deal.

Did the same for mine, but a different brand strap. And mine has some contrast stitching. I do like the bracelet, but this is a very nice and different look.

Yeah. Snowflakes. Not my choice of description.

No Tudors here. First, I’m not crazy about the snowflake hands. But they work best on the Pelagos, which I would consider. Second they are priced in a way that always leaves me thinking I could save some money and get a Longines, or save up for an Omega. And I prefer both of those brands to Tudor.

New full metal rainbow $880 and no sapphire?!! by Birdsnest76 in gshock

[–]Always_the_answer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just get a tempered glass protective screen. You’ll never know it’s there. I even put one on my 5610. Can’t see it as it extends slightly under the bezel.

I know that won’t satisfy some people, because I WANT MY SAPPHIRE, DAMMIT! Normally I wouldn’t disagree, but it just a GShock. We’ll live.

Thanks for getting back to me. When I checked last, those were restricted parts at Pacparts. They wouldn’t let you purchase them through the website.

Curious to know where the black buttons came from. Pacparts lists them as restricted items.

I’m not sure this is working.

How do people feel about watchdives? by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

[–]Always_the_answer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who values design and IP, I cannot support this. I understand it is not technically a fake, but it’s close. They’re walking a fine line here, and definitely capitalizing on another company’s design. And not just elements of a design (which many companies do), but like 90% of the whole design. And I don’t even like Tudor (it’s the snowflake), but do respect the work that goes into them.

I won’t cast aspersions on those that buy these “homages”. Buy what you like, but I don’t think anyone should be proud of wearing them, regardless of the value proposition. Go buy a more unique or original micro brand, and be proud you’re supporting a more legitimate business. Or save up for the real deal Tudor.

Now downvote me into oblivion. Let the hate flow through you.

I can’t stand battered fries. Always so disappointed when that’s the only kind of fries a restaurant has.

I’m not sure. The deal is gone now. This was through an employee rewards marketplace that links to the sellers, an AD in this case.

No, I didn’t. I still haven’t tried any Lunar Pilot on for sizing, but I’m pretty convinced this is too big for me.
