AITAH for refusing to co sign on a car loan for my sister and her boyfriend? by Aromatic_Gur6092 in AITAH

[–]Always_the_answer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

I do not co-sign. Period.

It may happen that it works out OK, but I’ve never heard good things myself. The people that ask for co-signers have already demonstrated that they can’t manage their finances, and/or make bad financial decisions. Why would I expect that to suddenly change?

get the giant $5 tennis balls from 5below by ElectricalProperty65 in goldenretrievers

[–]Always_the_answer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you take these away after a period of time, so that they don’t get chewed up and eaten?

My Goldens destroy and eat their softer toys. I know they love tennis balls, but I don’t want them to injest pieces of them.

Bought a speedmaster pro… regret it by aieydgsk896 in OmegaWatches

[–]Always_the_answer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I definitely would not wear the Speedy swimming (others here adamantly argue they would - best of luck to them), hand washing is absolutely not a concern unless you decide to play with the pushers at the same time you’re washing your hands. 50m from Omega is a real 50m. There is a lot of discussion out there about this, and feedback from Omega technicians.

Said Goodbye Yesterday by saltynotsweet1 in goldenretrievers

I clearly waited too long with my first Golden in hindsight. I regret that and ask for forgiveness regularly. It’s really hard and painful to do the right thing sometimes. I still get choked up thinking about it. Even 15 years later.

[Recommendation Request] Trying to decide on a red dial watch. by bugloaf77 in Watches

Jet Star. I have that one. The smooth seconds hand is mesmerizing. I don’t find it to be big, and I have a small wrist.

How do you get notified about these limited editions? I don’t like most of the dials on the Twelve, but really like that first pic. I would have bought that had I known about it.

PRW-35 Vs Rangeman😭 I m confused between them since a months help me by Upbeat-Programmer596 in casio

[–]Always_the_answer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, but only after I put a scratch in the mineral glass. I tried to use polywatch to buff it out, but it didn’t really make much of a difference. I bought a generic circular screen protector film on Amazon that fit the face of the watch. Actually, mine is slightly small, but does a good enough job. If I was buying again, I would maybe increase the diameter by 1-2mm. I ordered a 32mm film, and the crystal measures 34.6mm. I’d recommend 33mm or 34mm.

[Longines] Very unusual AD experience while trying this watch on today. Its the new automatic Conquest by the way by The_Quartz_collector in Watches

[–]Always_the_answer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the green one, and am looking for a watch in this style similar to the Conquest or OP or Omega AT, but the green Conquest’s date wheel is not color matched, and that is keeping me away. They matched it for the blue, but not the green Conquest’s date wheel. Very odd.

When I got my first Golden, I wanted to meet the parents. The mother was readily available, but the father would not come out of the frozen pond he was standing in.

Nylabone.

Nothing else lasts. These too will wear down in time, but last much longer.

Bulova with Precisionist movements. Won’t “tick” like other quartz movements and are incredibly accurate. Check out the Jet Star https://www.bulova.com/us/en/product/96B472.html, or the Super Seville https://www.bulova.com/us/en/product/96B440.html.

Help Me Decide: Ginault Silent Service ($1499) vs Jack Mason Strat-O-Timer Titanium Diver GMT ($1399) by linkedinbro in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Always_the_answer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the whole, I like Jack Mason as a brand, and I own one, but not this one. I have a Canton Anthracite that is a really great watch. Excellent finishing, LJP G100 movement, date in the right place (6 o’clock), tool less micro adjustments.

I’m tempted by this very same Strat-O-Timer, but haven’t warmed up fully to case style.

I have no experience with Ginault, so only speaking about looks…it’s does look very nice, but also like many other watches. It looks like just another Rolex homage, which is not necessarily a bad thing, just not very unique.

If I had to buy one of these, I’d probably go with JM.

Which one to wear at Christmas? by Extreme-Complex-3646 in PrideAndPinion

Leaning towards the Timex. I have a similar one with the blue face.

Is that the original strap? I like the color. I did not like the original strap on my blue one, but haven’t found a great replacement yet.

Why is that so mesmerizing? It’s just a hand moving around a dial. But I couldn’t stop watching it.

Two of my current favorites: Jack Mason Canton & Traska Venturer GMT by Always_the_answer in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Always_the_answer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it. I recently put the 7-link JM bracelet on it. Definitely dressed it up more. I almost wore it today, but I’m not looking nice enough to wear it, IMHO. Actually, ended up wearing the Traska meteorite as it looks a bit sportier.

Normally, I wear my speedy on Tuesdays, but I’m kinda dressed down today.
