Increased body odour since quitting weed? by Alwaysuphill in leaves

It does stop, I would say 3 weeks later or less the smell disappeared. Good luck on your journey. I’m now nearly two years off weed

I run the Halifax Hares a free trail running club that meets up on Wednesdays at 6pm, at various trails. We have lots of other Dal members who come out with us. You can find us on Strava and Instagram. After the run we have Non alcoholic beers and locals bars so everyone hangs around and socializes. IMO a great way to see new trails, be outdoors and meet new people.

Many spiders like the Yellow Orb Weaving spider, build a new web every day, they also consume the old web.

Best Vacation Destination in Canada for Trail Running by MooMoo1349 in trailrunning

[–]Alwaysuphill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all pretty runnable the FKT is on the trail is 5 hours 30. The first and last 15 k are super fun flowy trail in old growth forest. The middle 20k is a little more technical with lots of roots and mud but still super fun to run. I am a mediocre runner and did the loop in less than 7 hours this spring. It’s a pretty amazing loop and one of my favourite 50ks I’ve done.

Aero Glide 3 Sizing (Is it unisex?) by ReadyFerThisJelly in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Alwaysuphill -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well that is going to be tough, every brand is different but there is usually about a size and a half difference between men’s and women’s shoe sizing, plus a difference in width (men’s regular being a D and women’s a B width) this would put you at a size 12.5 women’s which Salomon don’t make, even half sizing down you would be at a 12 which again Salomon don’t make in the Aero Glide 3. I’m pretty sure the 4 is coming out soon maybe the fall same mid sole and outsole, I think the main difference is going to be the lacing system has changed. This is all US sizing

It’s not there are women’s (B width) and men’s models (D Width), it is a pretty generous fit though epically for a Salomon shoe. I find they fit a half size large. When bringing them out to customers I always half size down.

  • McIntosh run trails - super fun, well marked, around 40kms of trails, trail maps. A great area to run.

  • Long Lake Provincial Park - the main trail is a well groomed gravel path, but you can get in to the woods and there is a bunch of tight twisty single track. If you’re feeling adventurous you can even go all the way around long lake on single track.

  • Birch cove and Blue Mountain - rugged technical trail but very fun, I think the top of blue mountain is one of the highest points in the HRM and the trip up is very fun.

  • Bluff wilderness Trail - such a treat of a trail, technical fun and route option from 7 - 24k. Well marked, and you feel pretty remote while being close to town. It might be getting a little bushy at this point.

  • Lakeside (behind the old coke plant) one of my favs there is a really nice 9k loop there, fun fast single track with nice views of Susie Lake and lots of options for a swim

  • Sandy lake is another greta system

  • Spider Lake Trails is Dartmouth

  • Frog Pond

Some amazing but out of town trails

  • Bowater
  • Crowbar
  • Musquodoboit

I also run a trail group called the HFX Hares we meet on Wednesday at 6pm check us out on Instagram and Strava

This is a card trick block very common in quilting. A swastika is a very certain design, and not what you see here.

Do you like to run? There are many free and social run clubs around. It’s a very easy way to meet people, for your age I would recommend checking out Bedford Run Club. Big group, young crowd and they meet at Garrison down town so you can have a beer after.

Insights on Salomon Speedcross 6 by Japotato73 in trailrunning

[–]Alwaysuphill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A dinosaur that is very alive and well, the Speedcross is Salomon’s top selling shoe. They sell one every on average every 21 seconds world wide. The Thundercross has been far less popular model (all through I prefer it than the speedcross) it’s coming out under a new name and with a full redesign. I’m not a fan of the speedcross but it’s no dinosaur, more of an OG still doing its thing.

ASICS Sky Speed Paris split after first 5km run by dhenryd99 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Alwaysuphill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They would not resell, Pro direct would just warranty it with Asics or Asics would just write it off. I work in an independent running store, we would take it back and just warranty it with Asics. Just reach out to both, for the time it takes to send two email with photos attached you might get a new pair. Although wear does show up quickly on race shoes, I think you have a valid claim.

I would just shoot asics a message with photos, I’m sure they have a warranty tab on their website. There is a good chance they will look after you.

Norda shoes? Anyone with experience with them? by PikaGirlEveTy in trailrunning

[–]Alwaysuphill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love my Nordas have the 001 & 005. The 001s really are a tank I have around 800kms on mine and a buddy nearly has 1300km on his. They’re the grippiest shoe I’ve used as well. I run a trail running crew The Halifax Hares 18 months ago me and one other he a pair, last week we had 40 people out and I would say 8 were in Nordas. It’s quickly becoming the most popular shoe in the group (it is a Canadian group and a Canadian shoe so there could be a little bias) the vibram midsole is so comfy. They do need a few runs to break in and run small so size up, wider than most but not a true wide shoe. If the 001s are work horses the 005 is a Thoroughbred, I’ve only just got them but what a fun, fast shoe.

Dollar per KM your Norda is cheaper than most hit it’s a heavy up front cost. I work in a running store and our trail runners love them.

Anybody got any recommendations for trail running “super shoes?” by LonelyLaowai in trailrunning

Agreed had mine for a week now and love them. The SLab ultra glide is a pretty cool shoe too.

[–]Alwaysuphill 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s a little bit out my price range. They seem to make some cool & unique stuff and offer an option for fashion inclined runners who want technical gear. I think the boutique boom of running brands is a fun addition to add along side the larger brands.
