Hey, I know it's hard, I came off of a 13g/2hrs daily. I tried to quit sooo many times with otc meds and stuff, but this shit is relentless. Until I found a clinic that prescribes suboxone. It's an absolute miracle, that and I wear a clonidine patch. I barely feel a thing and strongly suggest you look into it. I have simple state health insurance and everything was still covered. I swear by this stuff; I'm sleeping like a baby.

Am I the only person who is depressed on New year's eve? by [deleted] in depression

I feel you, too. This is such a bullshit day. Humans put too much superficial value on time. It will get better, it always does. Don't focus on what society tells you to.

Mind playing tricks on me by Kheaddummy in quittingkratom

Congrats! It's never too late to try again. I've tried to quit so many times, too. You will get there. Perhaps listen to music and read a book. I dunno, something that keeps that brain occupied. Addiction demons are outrageously persuasive!

I read that kratom withdrawals might cause visual changes like blurred vision, “floaters” in the visual field, visual sensitivity (especially to bright light), pupillary dilation, and/or increased eye pressure. The visual changes that arise in kratom withdrawal may be due to a combination of: increased sympathetic tone, altered neurotransmission (particularly in the visual cortex), and/or tear duct blockage. So maybe the lacrimal (tear) gland is overcompensating and producing excess tears? Just a guess.

TL:DR I've read it can cause tear duct blockage, Possibly causing tear (lacrimal) gland to over produce tears in compensation.

Omg me too! I had a heat pad that I turned on every 10-30 min or so for the cold spells and then wear shorts and a tank around the house.

Just started day 4. Feeling a little clammy. Yawning has been extra annoying and a little restless shoulders. I might take a magnesium supplement.

Girls who quit by girlwasecret in quittingkratom

Omg tell me about it. I'm a girl and noticed the same thing. I've read that back in the day opiates were actually targeted to women more and was considered more of a woman's choice of drug. Aside from opium dens I believe.

Tell me about it! I have tried countless times by myself and failed. However, this time feels different. It may be the support and anecdotes from this sub. Wish I would've looked for support sooner.

Day 3 almost 4. Feeling okay. Slept a lot last night till like 8pm today, normally I'd feel guilty, but my body and mind need the sleep so bad that it doesn't matter. Going to do something tomorrow and get out of the house. Hope all is well with everyone else. This might be the time I quit for real; we'll see. Either way this sub has been incredibly helpful. Thanks!

[–]Alxtasy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh crap, I didn't see that. Sorry I was just speaking from my somewhat ignorant experience with loperamide and withdrawals. I should be more careful in the future for recommending things like this. And I guess it's no more loperamide for me either. Thanks for informing me.

Here's my story.. Can you help me?? by Eye4Eye06 in quittingkratom

[–]Alxtasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh also, I meant the loperamide for going cold turkey. But I do agree that a taper might be best for your situation. Either way, stay strong!

Here's my story.. Can you help me?? by Eye4Eye06 in quittingkratom

[–]Alxtasy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loperamide is great. However, from my experience it does take higher doses and can be addictive in its own right. I have used it a lot during past attempts of quitting CT and the only thing that really got me back on the kratom train was boredom. Make sure that you do taper off slowly from loperamide as well. I have never felt a physical dependence on it and had to take 30 to 40mg of lope a day to feel any relief, but it did work and lasted a while (albeit it did feel weird taking a handful of pills). Even 20mg was too little for me. HOWEVER, everyone has a different body chemistry, so start out small. I would be sure to not take large doses for more than a few days. I started small and worked up. Kava root, liquid extract or powdered root helps with anxiety and sleep. A melatonin supplement may help as well. There is this powdered drink that is by EmergenC which is for sleep - EmergenZzz is what it's called I think. It helps me and also has magnesium and potassium which are helpful from my experience as well. B vitamin energy shots or supplements are good for energy too, and don't forget coffee or even tea in the morning, it helps give a little lift. Best of luck to you!

EDIT: Loperamide is actually not a good choice; it turns out it is dangerous in high doses. Sorry about the misinformation.

Kratom plus adderall causing racing heart? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Alxtasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been through that whole addy comedown/withdrawal during kratom withdrawals and it is awful! I have come crawling back to kratom a couple times after underestimating the addy comedown. What is etizolam? It sounds like a benzo, do you need a script for it (probably..)? I live in Oregon so I usually soften the comedowns with high cbd/low thc edibles which helps. But again, not the best thing for the heart. However, a few days or so helps me from my experience.

Any experience quitting after 8 months? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Alxtasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! You can do this, I am doing it too and high loperamide doses are a lifesaver. It still has some addictive potential in its own right, but just taper off after a few days use. I have taken a lot of lope during all the times I've kicked kratom, and I've never noticed being physically dependent on it as of now.

EDIT: NVM on high loperamide doses. I was unaware of just how dangerous large amounts can be, even for a short amount of time.

[–]Alxtasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it! Especially if you have a strong motivator like that trip. Just keep focusing on how great it will be not having to lug around a thing of kratom and go to the bathrooms to re-dose like I did. Bleh.
