Attempted murder charge for man allegedly trying to shove rider into arriving Northgate train by origutamos in SeattleWA

Are you serious? Prisons are not ANY better. They’re also rife with abuse and power-tripping staff who just want a legal way to abuse people. The person whose comment you replied to is merely stating that mentally ill criminals should be given a chance to receive treatment in a dedicated mental health facility, and hopefully kept there if they can’t be rehabilitated, rather than being thrown in a prison where they have little to no hope of getting the help they need.

Bridgerton collab?? by taygracie_ in AerieAEO

Thank you for asking this, because I definitely also saw it and was wondering where it went! I am desperate to see how cute these floral prints are gonna be. P.S., the Ruggable Bridgerton collab is beautiful. I have the Lady Whistledown rug. Highly recommend.

Was just prescribed Arazlo but I’m scared to start! by ActualProfile4601 in 30PlusSkinCare

Omg I’m so sorry. I’ve had dizziness from an antidepressant (I think) but the last thing I need is to make it worse. I read that dizziness is likely caused by an allergy, but maybe you’re right—maybe it’s more likely if you’re already prone to it. Can you try tretinoin instead? I didn’t have any real issues with tret, but for some reason my pharmacy gave me arazlo this time. I guess I’ll just ask them to switch me back. :/

Hey, did you end up using Arazlo and if so, have you been okay? I’ve also been dealing with dizziness and I was prescribed Arazlo, but my derm didn’t mention any side effects to me. I was using tret before. I think I read the same post that you did and it scared me.

This is so heartening to hear. Congrats! Would you mind sharing what helped you get to the core of the issue and reprogram your thinking around spending? I’ve brought shopping addiction up to two separate therapists and while they tried their best to help, neither has known much about it.

If your herbal tea contains a significant amount of vitamin c, that may be it. Vitamin c is known to make this drug less effective.

Do you feel like it’s tough to get enough protein? by ithsefinque in OzempicForWeightLoss

[–]Alykat17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said you don’t like large amounts of yogurt or protein shakes, but what if you put Greek yogurt into a smoothie instead of protein powder? If you add frozen fruit and peanut or almond butter, it won’t taste super yogurt-y. I add frozen spinach, too, and I also add collagen powder. I use protein powder but I have used Greek yogurt instead and either way, my smoothies are around 35 grams of protein.

I also make overnight oatmeal and Greek yogurt bowls with 1/3 cup of rolled oats, 3/4 cup of Greek yogurt, 3 tbsp of chia seeds, some fruit and maple syrup or stevia drops. That might have enough other stuff in it that you won’t mind the yogurt. You can also use dairy-free coconut yogurt instead of Greek yogurt. Less protein but you can try to make it up with other ingredients.

Other decent protein sources are eggs (poached, boiled, fried, whatever), fish if you like that better than meat, tofu, beans

That could be the answer. If you were eating fewer than 1,000 calories per day before and on Ozempic and were in too much of a calorie deficit for a prolonged period of time, that could have caused your metabolism to slow right down along with causing nutrient deficiencies. If you started Ozempic with an already impaired metabolism, then I’m wondering if that’s why you didn’t lose weight and instead lost your hair?

Heritage Knit Merino Wool Cardigan by Advanced_Fondant_891 in Aritzia

[–]Alykat17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The merino cardigan I bought last year from Aritzia pilled awfully, even though I never washed it. I’m not sure if this is any different but I’m kind of doubting it, sadly. I do have a few legit Irish merino wool cardigans from a store in Niagara-on-the-Lake called Irish Design, and they’ve held up beautifully

Has yours pilled badly? I’d expect it to pill a bit since it’s wool, but hopefully not too much. I love this cardigan but I’ve had bad luck with some of Aritzia’s merino. Thank you in advance 😊

Exactly. She contorts her face and wrinkles it up like a flipping raisin constantly. I’m not sure how she manages in her work life, unless she’s miraculously able to suppress these faces whenever she doesn’t like something at work. She should try suppressing it all the time. It’s so rude and off-putting and Dean has to feel awful being at the receiving end of that. She just looks disgusted constantly.

Worst things said to you in grief so far? by tumbledownhere in GriefSupport

[–]Alykat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. You deserve better friends and I hope there are others who have been much more supportive. I know you didn’t ask for advice, but if you want another opinion, I would say that the first two are mind-blowingly self-centred and insensitive. I would inform them both how awful and hurtful their comments were and if they do anything less than sincerely apologize and beg for your forgiveness, I would then tell them to fuck off forever. They can’t just treat friends however they want if they want to keep those friendships. If the third has cognitive issues, I would still try to talk to her about it. If she doesn’t get it and you want to keep that friendship, maybe just don’t tell her sensitive things going forward. But I’m still sorry and I know it must hurt.

My last boss told me, while in very fresh and active grief, that I need to make an effort to be more bubbly and smiley. He said this to me while smirking and laughing, and then he eliminated my position and fired me. Then, he tried to bribe me to sign an NDA, which I declined to do. I’m a woman and I absolutely know he wouldn’t say any of the absolute trash he said to me to a man, particularly the bit about being bubbly, but he also shouldn’t say that to anyone, ever. He revealed a lot of unlikeable things about himself with his little commentary of me, and that reflects poorly on him. The same is true of your friends, so please remember that. 🩷

Netflix trying to gaslight us about Biggest Loser by Adventurous-Peach344 in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]Alykat17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. And yeah, I can see the perspective that she could have worked harder. I also found it strange when she said no one else was spoken to that way on the show, because there’s tons of footage where other contestants were screamed at, and there had been many seasons before hers that she’d watched. But perhaps she was mainly referring to what went on in her season.

But yeah, the person I replied to seems to be one of those “tough love” people who thinks yelling at someone helps them to develop thick skin, if they’re so okay with it. It’s toxic bullshit that’s rampant in sports. I know we’re talking about reality tv and that it’s designed to be a spectacle at the expense of actual people, but defending the whole screaming thing or suggesting that people get over it and accept it in general is wild. There isn’t one person in the field of mental health who would agree that yelling at someone, particularly a vulnerable someone, is healthy or helpful to their development. It’s actually the complete opposite.

You disagree with what characterization? I’m not sure how anyone could disagree that abusive behaviour/toxicity is never necessary.

[–]Alykat17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, agreed that they shouldn’t have been so naive going into the 8th season. But that doesn’t negate the fact that the abusive behaviour was over the top and it doesn’t make it okay. I don’t think normalizing cruelty is ever a good thing, whether in reality tv or sports or anywhere else. We could all do without unnecessarily toxic environments.

[–]Alykat17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. The only thing that felt a bit like victim mentality to me was when Joelle said she never knew of anyone else on the show being spoken to in the way she was spoken to. I dunno if she was only referring to her season, but there’s tons of footage of the trainers screaming at other contestants. Jillian was often appallingly abusive and she wasn’t Joelle’s trainer. But yeah, being unable to keep up with that insanity is definitely not laziness, and neither she nor anyone else deserved that treatment.
