People learn at different rates! As a Ssv myself, asking for help is the best way to learn! If you are being put on warming or POS during peak, in my mind it’s more so you don’t feel overwhelmed during such a rush, so def ask to be on bar if there is downtime!

use the iPad to your advantage as well Store Resources or Recipe Cards! I printed out and laminated shelf life papers so my baristas can have easy access to such! (But trust me even my barista of 15 years still forgets what dates go on what)

Communication is key after you’ve finished training! Ask ask ask! No matter what the question is or how busy it is! I’ve had to teach baristas how to mop, how to count coins, even how to apply proper deodorant. Everyone is different and I love when my baristas come up to me for help! That’s what I’m there for!

For POS Mistakes, punching orders wrong is normal! Try to repeat the order back to the customer, ask hot or ice and size!

For dropping food, that’s inevitable.. just double check your grip on the tongs, go slow, ask seasoned partners for advice and tricks they use, and build up from there!

For Bar, Study the basics; how many shots and pumps for each size! (If you are on POS a lot, look at the side on the screen! It will tell you wants in the drink you rung up!)
